AM Radio made some major changes at Tusk. It’s now underwater, but still beautiful and evocative. Here I am inside the little building on the pier looking out at the water and enjoying the warm sun streaming in the window. It looks like it will be a lovely day. I hope so because I forgot to bring a jacket.

When you go to a place called the Surrealist Dance Hall, you need to expect oddities. And that there were including a shadow that followed me everywhere, but looked like a man. I had originally gone there when everything was black and white and immediately decided to wear this black and white dress that reminds me of Joan Miró, but when I returned, the place was absolute vibrating with color.

So when I received two outfits from Kunglers to review and saw that lovely black and white fabric texture in the Metropolli dress was, I was not surprised to see it reviewed several times over on the feed. It’s just that kind of fabric and that kind of dress. I decided to look at the other outfit the sisters sent me and a little black and white light bulb clicked in my head. Why not toss the two outfits in a bag, shake them up and see what falls out?
In an amazing turnaround, the temperature dropped last night so quickly that I almost turned on my heat. Then I had a conversation with myself that went more of less like this:
Heat in July? Are you nuts? But it’s soooo cold! So put on a sweater, silly! oh, yeah!
Funny how you forget those handy dandy sweaters after you move them into the bottom drawer for the summer. Digging out a sweater in RL prompted me to dig out an SL sweater as well – to prevent any SL goose bumps marring my much beloved new skin from Curio. Continue reading
While Gidge is off vacationing at the Bates Hotel, I thought I would laze about in this cute little outfit featuring a great new shirt from Ce Cubic Effect and an old skirt from our mutual friend Miffyhoi Rosca. This is the first skirt Miffy made, and she made it in red, green and brown plaids. Being an autumn-loving person, I immediately fell in love with all three. Let’s clear one thing up first. I love polka dots. Not surprisingly, they are named after the dance, but only because at the time textile manufacturers were producing the polka dot fabrics, the polka was the hottest dance craze around. Just think, if polka dots had not come out then, but say in the 20’s the may have been Charleston Dots or Shimmy Dots. If they were named today, what would they be called? Crump Dots? I kind of like the name Shimmy Dots, but I don’t suppose we could persuade the world to change the name.
Creamshop makes two delicious polka dot skirts in one lovely fatpack. I am wearing the black with gold dots, there is also a white with gold dots skirt. There are lovely bubble skirts – a skirt fashion more suited to SL than RL where wrinkling and flattening while you sit are not going to leave your skirt out of sorts all day long. As you can see, they provided another opportunity to throw on my Elphaba shoes from Digit Darkes. I have had this deliciously fresh Apple dress from Heartattack & Vine for quite awhile without breaking it out of the closet. I love the design, the retro pop print, the colors, everything about it, except that when I put it on, it just didn’t look quite right. Putting it on again last night, it finally clicked. It really needed a nice chunky jacket. I knew just the one – the short leather jacket from Ce Cubic Effect which they fortunately made in a rich red that suited the dress perfectly.
