The Dress of Power

posted by Gidge Uriza

I used to shop, with my old crew, and listen to boys endlessly fawning over them. We’d TP into a place to shop or dance, or – back in the day, gamble….and SUDDENLY boys would flock over to them babbling about how pretty they were. And not your usual “I want make sex”. These were boys with the sense to use some smoother verbiage in their quest to “make sex”. Continue reading

Good morning starshine

Continuing with wonderful Hair Fair finds, today I am wearing the Codie hair style from Mirada – a new-to-me store with wonderful hair that needed no tinting. There’s a nip in the air so I put on this cuddly warm Round and Aboutton dress from Veschi. It’s autumnal colors put me in mind of the prairie so I headed out to The Refuge and Prospect and hopped a train. Continue reading

And love will steer the stars!

But I won’t be steering anything after this photo shoot. I had so much fun making this wonderful Bishwear hair swing by going back and forth on the pose pad – next-previous-next-previous- that I made myself dizzy.  I have a bias for hair that moves and swings, and this Hair Fair offering called Seductress is well-named. It seduced me into playing like a six-year-old with my pose pad. And the blouse…well I had to shoot it with two different looks, it’s that good a top. Continue reading

Then Peace Shall Guide the Planets

In this photo, I am wearing Boon hair from the Hair Fair. Boon hair always looks so messy – a lovely naturally messy that I love. I also love that I don’t have to tint Boon hair…it comes right in the shade I want. Now, my gown! Oh wow!

Friday I was making the style notes and the pink tulip necklace I wore was from a shop I didn’t remember ever going to and one that was not in the directory, so I went to get the SLurl and found an amazing store with wonderful clothes…including this Belladonna dress. It moves so wonderfully, I took about a dozen snaps of it swirling around as I changed poses. Continue reading

The Surrealist Dance Hall

When you go to a place called the Surrealist Dance Hall, you need to expect oddities. And that there were including a shadow that followed me everywhere, but looked like a man. I had originally gone there when everything was black and white and immediately decided to wear this black and white dress that reminds me of Joan Miró, but when I returned, the place was absolute vibrating with color.

When the Moon is in the Seventh House

I had one priority during last night’s pajama party/sneak peek at the Hair Expo. Come what may, I was going to find the incredible Kaori hair from Exile and snatch it up. And I did and thanks to that, you see it here in all its wild disarray. I am in love.

So, the Hair Expo? Laggy of course, but hey, swimming and shopping at the same time must do wonders of aerobic goodness for your pixel heart. Overwhelming – so much hair and only one head. But we all know what it really is. It’s the Fashionista’s Big Rock Candy Mountain!

But that’s not all today, Stiletto Moody has new shoes though she’s only teasing up by letting us see them. They don’t go on sale until 6PM tonight. Still, a girls gotta look. Continue reading

Quick Look: Tuli & Teal

I am having one of those days (leaving the ATM card in the machine, walking away from the coffee maker with the pot while the coffee pours through the filter, biting into a sandwich at one end while the contents slide safely out the other) so these photos and style notes can stand on their own. Suffice it to say I like the look – love MG Fashion’s Maria Fat Pack and dip into it regularly and think Tuli’s new skin is smoochaliscious. Continue reading
