You’re being subjected to more of my vacation mind from when I put these clothes together. I attended the grand reopening of Myth and was tickled to see this set – so I had to go back a few days later to pick it up. I knew it’d be perfect for some beach strolling or sand castle building. I received a promotional copy of this adorable micro-mini from BOOM! this weekend and I loved the little buttons and the adorable belt so much that I had to blog it even though there’s no way I would wear a skirt that short in this life or real life. From the front, you don’t get to appreciate how dangerously short it is – but hey, that’s what tights are for!!
Lemania Indigo continues to shuffle through her store’s inventory, retiring pieces daily and weekly as she makes new creations. You will have to RUN this morning to catch the Eggplant Elegance gown before it retires forever from her store. Continue reading →
This outfit mixes a corset from Deadly Nightshade with a system skirt from Little Rebel. I love the system skirt – especially since I made myself a skirt shape to reduce the big booty bounty so common in the regular shape with a system skirt. Little Rebel is the epicenter of system skirt magnificence and smart fashionistas will make an occasional foray there to ensure they have a a few of the highwaisted system skirts to mix and match with short tops and corsets.
I guess because I grew up next to the Red River Valley of the North, whenever I see the phrase winter white my mind thinks of winter wheat. It’s a form of wheat that’s planted in the fall, needing the cold to flower. Of course, sometimes the winter is too hard and it kills off the crop, but then farming is possibly the only form of gambling legal in every country of the world. Now I would not wear these Novocaine winter white pants on the farm – but this truly is a perfect farm girl goes to town outfit, after all they are officially called City Slacks.
Snuggly comfort can be stylish – something beautifully demonstrated with this skirt from Miu and the sweater set from DP YumYum. Lovely little details like the tie on the skirt or the differently colored buttons on the sweater show designers who pay attention to the nuances of style and share a little wink of delight with their customers.
I was eager to see the new Festivale sim. Whether giggling over the names of the Long Awkward Poses or enjoying the witty conversations on plurk with Autumn Hykova and Dove Swanson – I figured their new sim would be made with wit as well as skill…and it is. I was thrilled to find this old pickup behind the LAP store and immediately knew I wanted to take a picture. Happily I was already dressed in something that suited the setting.
Stores like Honey Kitty and DP YumYum specialize in cute. In fact, I believe they have installed security systems in their stores that prevent anything from rezzing that is not cute. If your hair stays grey in the store, you know it’s not cute. If you aren’t sure about an outfit, test it and tp in and see if it rezzes. If it does, it’s cute. But cute is a continuum. Is it as cute as a baby shark with a funny nosel or is it as cute as a baby seal? This, I think, is just plain off the chart cute.
My directions from Achariya were quite generous in allowing me to choose what I wanted. She wrote:
For you, I think I’d want to see you in cute yet classic style from Japanese designers. How about a coat and pants and hair from DP**yumyum? (There are some pants on sale in the sale room, really cute capris). Boots from J’s, and other accessories from Swallowtail? ♥ Thank you for letting me play with you!
Harmony and understanding are easy to find when you go to The Refuge and Expansion. I was lucky enough to go their the other day and catch a live concert at the farm house by a marvelous classical guitarist. And lucky enough to be wearing yet another Hair Fair treasure – this time from Damselfly.
