Sweater Weather Approacheth!

posted by Gidge Uriza

Sweaters, ladies. Sweater weather is coming. Yes you heard me. Labor Day is coming in the US which means we’ll be packing up our whites and our linen, and pulling out sweaters, tweeds and wool. Which makes this a perfect time to show off what I recently picked up at Stitchy by Stitch.

I like to check out the occasional art gallery and I’ve heard about Quadrapop Tree forever and never made it over. While I missed the grand opening of their sim, I managed to eek out some exploring time one afternoon recently and this little ensemble made the cut for the day.  Slinking around the mysterious modern landscape and taking in the wonderful pieces, this was a nice casual choice for such a nice open sim. We Twinkle Below

House of Heart came through with a hair style that can top any twinkling diva when creating this Tousled confection replete with black ostrich feathers and everything but the cherry on top.Pairing it with this twinkling Twilight dress from the one and only… You know this dress so perfectly epitomizes this designer’s aesthetic that I should not even tell you who she is. You should just know from looking.

Ah! You all guessed Digit Darkes, didn’t you? Go to the head of the class.  Now you really didn’t think I would keep it a secret. Right this moment I am envisioning hundreds of fashionistas wearing this dress and converging together on the wonderful garden at Wanderstill and twinkling and swirling in field after field of flowers. Delicious – Courtesy of Kunglers

posted by Gidge Uriza

So I’ve got this new bed, we’ve established that. What you probably don’t know, is that I’m a bit picky about how I look IN ALL situations. So, I was running the gauntlet on some of my lesser-worn skins – trying to find one that didn’t end up with wonky seams and odd coloring when I was, ahem, twisting into various pose ball contortions and after a while the site of my own pixel naked-ness was wearing me out. You Twinkle Above Us

Another great find from the Hair Fair was this extravagantly rich Wild Orchid updo from Exile complete with assorted differently colored wild orchids in the packl. It’s the perfect hair for when you really want to dress up and wear something as rich and exciting as this dress.

The Earth Says Hello

and so do dragonflies.

I gave a big hello to the marvelous biker cap from Argrace and decided to dress up as a Pennzoil Princess in honor of the hat. Setting out to shoot at the Texaco station at Refuge and Prospect I was lucky enough to run into the builder himself – who kindly gave me a dragonfly.  How could I not include it in my shoot…and in this case, take one picture from the dragonfly’s viewpoint.

Then Peace Shall Guide the Planets

In this photo, I am wearing Boon hair from the Hair Fair. Boon hair always looks so messy – a lovely naturally messy that I love. I also love that I don’t have to tint Boon hair…it comes right in the shade I want. Now, my gown! Oh wow!

Friday I was making the style notes and the pink tulip necklace I wore was from a shop I didn’t remember ever going to and one that was not in the directory, so I went to get the SLurl and found an amazing store with wonderful clothes…including this Belladonna dress. It moves so wonderfully, I took about a dozen snaps of it swirling around as I changed poses. Continue reading

When the Moon is in the Seventh House

I had one priority during last night’s pajama party/sneak peek at the Hair Expo. Come what may, I was going to find the incredible Kaori hair from Exile and snatch it up. And I did and thanks to that, you see it here in all its wild disarray. I am in love.

So, the Hair Expo? Laggy of course, but hey, swimming and shopping at the same time must do wonders of aerobic goodness for your pixel heart. Overwhelming – so much hair and only one head. But we all know what it really is. It’s the Fashionista’s Big Rock Candy Mountain!

But that’s not all today, Stiletto Moody has new shoes though she’s only teasing up by letting us see them. They don’t go on sale until 6PM tonight. Still, a girls gotta look. Continue reading

Calling on the Classics

After the avant garde funkiness of the Kitty coat yesterday, I felt a need to reach for the classics – those wonderful trusty items that never fail. And what could be more classic than a lovely plaid skirt, an oxford-cloth shirt and a cardigan. This stunningly well-made shirt is from Muism – and the prim parts fit flawlessly with just a tiny bit of adjustment. With it, I wore the Irelyn Houndstooth scarf to match the fabric in the Vogart skirt.

The skirt is from Vogart and as always is a perfectly made a-ling prim skirt.  I wish Vogart made more skirts because Vogart skirts are the most well-made I have. They simply look perfect everytime. The cardigan is from Frangipani Designs – a simple classic with classic good looks. Continue reading

Soooooooo…….You're Pierced, Eh?

posted by Gidge Uriza

This is a true life tale – inspired by the fashion in these photos. What you see is another DELICIOUS win from the SN@TCH lucky chair – AWESOME dress eh?

Once Upon A Time,

Dressed about like this….a young Gidge sat in a cavernous dark Goth Bar in Seattle with her boyfriend – the King of the Top Hat Wearing Goth boys.  The Biggest Scariest Goth Man (who at about 45 clearly lived in his Mom’s basement and worked at the Target by Day and was only out to scare the 20 somethings by the light of the moon) came strolling over to our dark and pensive corner to exchange angst with us.

During the course of the conversation, it is revealed that he’s sporting a Prince Albert piercing. In my dark and gloomy youth, I wasn’t aware of what that was, so I innocently asked what that meant.

And he showed me – RIGHT THERE. Continue reading
