As I have mentioned, this new collection from Prelude is dominated by outfits that are clothing suites with multiple blouses, skirts and pants for mixing and matching. Still, sometimes you want to add something of your own – as I did with the glam Micha Mi tank here. I love the little boleros in the Sorbonne suite, but preferred a simple tank to the fancy bras that are designed to go with it.

Mixing It Up
So I put on this adorable little wispy, puffy dress from Gigi Couture and thought that despite how adorable it was, I was in the mood for something different. I liked the colors though and decided to just mess around with trying some different skirts. One of the first I tried was skirt from ALB Dream Fashion in cerise. It comes with a white or cerise belt and I chose the cerise.
Water Spirits
This dress and jewelry set is another collaboration between Unpick and Twinkleberry – and available at the Twinkleberry store in Albero. Named after Ondine, the water spirit, the dress in particular evokes the element of water – particularly with the prim skirt.
Group Gifts
I found a surprise in my Objects folder that said Jador Group gift and when I opened it up there was this lovely black and red rose floral lingerie. Not content to hide it under a shirt, I decided to put on a skirt and let it shine, because it really is quite lovely. To be frank, now that we have the subscrib-o-matic option, I join groups without as much thought…since they are unlimited and so long as they do not flood me with notices, I will stay and sometimes log in to bright red surprises like this one.
Boy the way Glenn Miller played
A comment on my flickr invoked the music of Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey when looking at this suit. They seemed the perfect foil for this suit – their songs from a few decades earlier, but the can-do optimism of their music seems reflected in the upbeat design of the dress.
Wishing will make it so
Just keep on wishing and care will go
Dreamers tell us dreams come true
It’s no mistake
And wishes are the dreams we dream
When we’re awake
The curtain of night will part
If you are certain within your heart
So if you wish long enough, wish strong enough
You will come to know
Wishing will make it so
Living Ornamentally
Ah, the luxury that a Second Life provides us. Our avatars are always healthy and whole unless we choose to wear some skin with bruises, add a broken arm prim or sit in a wheelchair. We can even wear avatars with the chest open exposing our broken hearts. However, all these are optional and can be cast off with a quick right click of the mouse. First life doesn’t give us that option. If your heart is broken, it takes time and tears to heal. If it’s damaged, it can be replaced, but it takes much more than a mouse click. Now one of our own needs a new heart and everything is in place except the money. It should instill all of us with a sense of urgency that only $2500 could save her life. If 1000 people gave 650 lindens to one of the donation boxes in Second Life, a woman, someone whose work we see on the feeds, will get a Real Life Second Life. How cool is that?
Creating This New Year to Come
Elros Tuominen, the Second Life artist, is always incredibly generous with his art. For the new year, he sent this marvelous work called Creating This New Year to Come to his group. Like many of his works, you can sit inside it and meditate in a moving swirl of color and beauty. However, this really needs to be appreciated from outside as well.
My art-admiring outfit is from SkinFlicks, the Sally knit dress in pink.
You ought to go camping
I thought I should post this camping chair prize from Inara’s quickly so you can camp and perhaps sort your inventory a bit in time to have it for Christmas. Even though green is my favorite color, I adore dark blue and snowflake dresses. They just go together so well and this one is such a happy confection and a perfect backdrop for the stunning EarthStones seasonal jewelry.
Pink and Pucci
okay, okay, so the print blouse isn’t a Pucci, it sure makes me think of one. While wandering around Nique the other night, I wandered into Rahz and found a rack of great pop print tops including this one. One thing I cannot resist is a pucci-inspired print. No sooner did I ransack the store for more prints then I tp’ed back to the studio to shoot the luscious treasure.
One Dress = Six Looks
Baiastice is not the most expensive clothing store in Second Life® but it is costly enough that I do think about an outfit’s flexibility when I buy it. Can it be worn more than one way? If so, then I can mentally cut the cost in half, thirds or in this case, sixths. This one outfit, tossed about with other items in my inventory easily makes six different looks…and if I had more time, I probably could have done a few more. Here you see it as it is, out of the box from Baiastice Continue reading
