So when I received two outfits from Kunglers to review and saw that lovely black and white fabric texture in the Metropolli dress was, I was not surprised to see it reviewed several times over on the feed. It’s just that kind of fabric and that kind of dress. I decided to look at the other outfit the sisters sent me and a little black and white light bulb clicked in my head. Why not toss the two outfits in a bag, shake them up and see what falls out?
When I received a review copy of Kungler’s new Floratta, I knew it would be a popular item on the blogs – the lovely gold textures and sassy style certain to appeal to everyone. So, I thought I wouldn’t blog it, but it was irresistible, so I decided to rethink it a bit by mixing it up with a different skirt. With Kungler’s typical attention to detail, the the gold top is finished with a lovely bronze edge. I thought it would be fun to match it up with a bronize skirt and accessories.

A relaxed weekend in the mountains (which is where I’ve been) called for something casual and fun. It’s still hot hot hot hot hot here, so even being in the mountains doesn’t provide cool breezes for relief at night. Kunglers PARADISE outfit is so bright and cheery, yet stylishly casual, I couldn’t resist it.
I don’t wear many “tank” tops and as I’ve said I don’t really wear Tshirts so finding casual pieces to wear that I like to wear always makes me happy. I’ve struggled with SOME prim babydoll top attachments recently – they attach strangely, they move oddly, they’re just over-all wonky. This one seems to be big enough that I could make a very slight adjustment and it didn’t hang bizarrely into my butt with my AO on (which as you can imaagine, makes a difference). Continue reading

I always blame my overdressing on my old friend Jenn Lemmon. She was a courtesan at the Moulin Rouge and she was a notorious OVER dresser. I told her once how much I envied her fantastic gowns, and that I wasn’t going to an event at Moulin Rouge one night because I just didn’t have the clothes for it…….and she laughed.
“Oh Gidge, don’t base your wardrobe on me. I ALWAYS overdress for everything.”

Maht celebrated his RL Bday a few days ago by holding a small listening party for his friends, where we gathered and enjoyed his music. It was a great opportunity to break out this piece from Kungler’s, which has retro-store chic written all over it. My grandma’s pearls with a big flowery broach added to an elegant shrug jacket top off the form fitting pinstripe pants – to me this outfit brings a modern cut to a 50s pansuit. One of my favorite literary puns is from the death scene of Cyrano de Bergerac when he says “I still have my white feather.” The first time I read it, I thought that was strange, but reading it again a few years later in a different translation, it read “I still have my panache,” with a lovely footnote explaining that panache meant both that ineffable sense of wit and style but also meant feather. Oh what we lose in translation!

Short and Sweet! Not just the dress, the post as well. I am working late in RL and taking a few minutes just to post this outfit and let you judge it for yourselves. I went a little pared down on the accessories because the beaded collar straps eliminate the need and the advisability of a necklace. When a fashionista gets dressed
there are two possibilities.
She can slick back her hair with V05 and some give it some shakes for an unkempt style, appropriate for some dinner at The Hurricane Cafe.
Or
She can coif herself elegantly wearing a feminine style that speaks more of a night at Minnie’s .
If she reaches for the tube of V05 that’s that.

One of the bonuses of blogging about fashion is that I occasionally am offered a new outfit to review. AvaGardner Kung let me choose a couple outfits from Kungler’s to review, including this outfit called New College. It includes the brown tank, cream print top on the jacket layer, glitch pants, a prim skirt and a prim scarf. I am not wearing the scarf because I wanted to wear this Bishwear hair that would have hidden most of it anyway. Since the outfit is named New College, I decided to head to a nearby bookstore.
