April Showers Bring May Flowers

It’s May and the sun peeps out every 15 minutes or so behind the normal grey Oregon sky – a harbinger of the real summer that will come next month. Looking out my window I see a riot of flowers, tulips, lavender, rhodies and azaleas and it’s so lovely. With that sort of sunny mood, I wanted a sunny dress and this one from Anuenue seems perfect for the occasion.

Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall

When I looked in my clothing folder this morning I saw a lonely little jacket not in a folder, but sitting there all alone and loose. I recognized the name and realized it was one that I bought Humby Designs on my shopping spree. I just came without a folder and so I decided to make an outfit around it – the one you see above. It’s a great outfit. Still, gray plaid jacket and an autumn look is pretty predictable, isn’t it? So…for fun…I decided to take that simple jacket and style one outfit for each season. If you like wearing traditional clothing, you may look into these Lederhose Damen fashion items.

All photos are shot at MDR’s Photo Park which is open to the public. Click on through if you want to see more details on the outfits. And – if any bloggers out there want to take a shot at making an All-Seasons Item post, I would love to see it.

In Bloom

Every once in a while someone makes a dress that makes everyone stop and take a breath and sigh. The newest dress from Mimikri is that kind of dress. There is a black version that is all black – which makes it a very different dress – and equally striking, but the sheer springlike femininity of the pink, blue and yellow versions of this dress is unrivaled. The skirt is a riot of flowers with a ruched satin bodice and it’s absolutely luscious.

Fear & Clothing

A friend of mine is taking a year off to live on the Pacific Coast of Mexico – for some sun, surfing and reflection – and asked for some book recommendations. Since I had put on these pants from Fear & Clothing, my first thought was a list of Hunter S. Thompson books. I really love the tartan pants from Fear & Clothing. They come in great colors such as this bold yellow and orange. I also pulled out my Spring Turtleneck from last Spring‘s collection from Aoharu. These turtlenecks have been on of my best investments and I wear them often.

Sugar Sweet

Cube Sugar is new to me and what a find it was for me. I definitely will be going back again and again. These pink and teal plaid pants came from there and I could not be happier. I love the look. I am delighted that they are mod, allowing me to widen the bottom just enough to go over the tops of my ankle boots. I love everything about them, including the way the seams meet – a challenge with plaids.

The Velvet

Every Sunday afternoon finds me at the Velvet – the marvelous indie music club on the Downtown sim.  The Velvet is a favorite club for many reasons, not least that there are no gesture addicts there. People actually have conversations with each other so it’s not silenced by IM private chat either.  By and large, people are generally pleasant and friendly though a few are self-proclaimed music snobs. There’s a lot of music conversation and folks have a good time. There’s no dress code and people generally come as they are. This is what I wore this Sunday while dancing the afternoon away.

Too Much Goodness

There’s so much I like in this outfit that I hardly know where to begin, but how about with something I rarely talk about, the eyes. Today I am wearing Poetic Color eyes. I seldom change eyes and 90% of the posts I have done have shown me with IC-Eyes Soulful Hazel, but recently I came across these lovely Poetic Color eyes that seem so alive with their wonderful reflections of things seen. Now, if only they came in hazel.  But then there is also the hair and we can’t forget the skirt – a freebie that is just wonderfully made. Yes, lots of goodness this time.

Hot Hair

When I saw Thalia Jie on Saturday, she was wearing the cutest hairstyle that I absolutely coveted. However, it was blonde so I didn’t just snatch it off her head and instead went to 0 Style as soon as my pixel feet could carry me. Now the style is named Prissy, but hey, designers can’t be perfect. You and I know there’s nothing the least bit prissy about the wild abandon, swing and movement in this hair. However, when someone creates hair this beuatiful, we can forgive a misleading name.
