There’s nothing quite as wonderful as a lovely beige silk pencil skirt with a subtle pattern to it. It can be worn with nearly any color in the spectrum. Almost any kind of blouse will suit it. And if the pattern is subtle enough, you can even wear a blouse with a bit of pattern to it as in this black top from Kunglers Medusa pantsuit. It has an art deco motif in black on black. The motif would be more obvious except I chose to wear a cami underneath because I am a pixel prude. The cami is from Ornamental Life and would look great on its own.

I sell the morning paper, sir.
My father played banjo and sang in a country/bluegrass band and I have lost count of all my cousins and other relatives who are in the music industry – so I come by a head packed with musical references quite honestly even if I inherited my singing voice from the “sings like a sick cat” side of the family. Everytime I see a newsboy cap like this one from Haute Style Company, that old Jimmy Brown the Newsboy song pops into my head… and it just won’t go away. No matter that the real Jimmy Brown sang “I got no hat upon my head, no shoes upon my feet.”
Don't Ask Me Where to Find It.
So Gidge is participating in the Greatest Love hunt – hiding a box at her store Don’t Ask with special freebies for the hunt from some of the designers she features in her store. Among the offerings are skins and lingerie such as I am wearing here.
Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heart Clubs Band
It was twenty years ago today,
Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play
They’ve been going in and out of style
But they’re guaranteed to raise a smile.
So may I introduce to you
The act you’ve known for all these years,
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Bliss
I stopped at Bliss Couture last weekend and found this gorgeous gown that I have been too busy to have occasion to wear this week. This week has been one of those too-busy-to-breathe weeks and has left me no time for dancing. Oh well, there’s always the weekend and now I am ready.
And now for something completely different
Feeling a bit fey last night, I decided to take the Cambridge Cuffed shirt from Armidi and see if I could give it a “quaintly unconventional” look. After all, what could be more conventional than a plain button-down shirt? A fun challenge, then, to give it an unconventional twist. Browsing my inventory, I tried a few skirts, but the instant I put on Nell from LBD, the search was over.
En Vogue
Miffy of Zenith and I have been friends since my first month in Second Life and have spent many hours sitting on a pig talking about this that and the other thing. I remember watching her make her first clothes and marveling at her sureness and speed in moving those prims around. She often sends me her newest creation and every once in a while I will blog one that is less neko that most of her clothes. Now is when I admit that she once asked me why I dressed like an old lady. Such is the difference between 20 and 33. However, we are both a year older now and that year makes a bigger difference for her…which really shows in the increasing feminity and maturity of her designs. This last dress she did is just stunning and for the first time, I am doing a blog post of an outfit in all its colors: silver, gold, pink, blue and black.
Candy and Cigarettes

It all started with a blogpost on Freestyle about a free snowboard! I was bored, had no one to hang out with and though, Hey – I’ll go get that snowboard. That’d be a hoot.
Except I couldn’t FIND it. I round RAY SKIN just fine, and I found a lot of cute freebie clothes (worn) but no snow board. Now, as will happen when there is a post from Freestyle, it was kind a crackalackin busy with freebie hunters and folks checking out a store new to them. So it was lagarrific and hard to get around. There probably WAS a snowboard and I couldn’t FIND It. Continue reading
Running Round the Metaverse
So I spent a portion of the weekend running around, going shopping, going to sims, checking my landmarks thinking I would clean them up. I had big plans for the weekend in terms of getting my inventory under control (did not happen) but I did check out and delete some landmarks – mourning the loss of some wonderful sims and art installations lost in the whole openspaces change. When I hop around from place to place, I like some comfortable clothes like these that make me feel ready for anything.
Too Much Goodness
There’s so much I like in this outfit that I hardly know where to begin, but how about with something I rarely talk about, the eyes. Today I am wearing Poetic Color eyes. I seldom change eyes and 90% of the posts I have done have shown me with IC-Eyes Soulful Hazel, but recently I came across these lovely Poetic Color eyes that seem so alive with their wonderful reflections of things seen. Now, if only they came in hazel. But then there is also the hair and we can’t forget the skirt – a freebie that is just wonderfully made. Yes, lots of goodness this time.
