Sweetness and Light

In contrast to the vamps and witches of Halloween, this outfit has a sweetly naive sensibility. The central element is Muism’s open silk shirt with its impeccable prim collar and cuffs. In a soft, pastel pink print, it matches well with the softly draping broom skirt.

Incidentally, this background is one of the free backgrounds in the thank you gift from Gidge and me for sending us over 700 visits in a day.  You can get the 10 free backgrounds by clicking  the It’s Only Fashion sign in the MDR portfolio room.

Ooh, Spiders

Abraxxa Anatine has gone Halloween crazy. It was not that long ago she released the Desmodus jewelry in all their batwing glory, and now she has released Eww! Spiders! This is a delicate and intricate jewelry set, nearly as delicate as the web weavers that inspired it.

So, I have to quibble about the name. It should be Oooh! Spiders! because spiders are such lovely, handy little beasties.  They eat mosquitoes, no-see-ems, wood ticks and horse flies, what more can you ask of any creature?  And yet, they do more. They spin beautiful webs of intricate lace that inspire our art and imagination. Continue reading

One Dress = Six Looks

Baiastice is not the most expensive clothing store in Second Life® but it is costly enough that I do think about an outfit’s flexibility when I buy it. Can it be worn more than one way? If so, then I can mentally cut the cost in half, thirds or in this case, sixths. This one outfit, tossed about with other items in my inventory easily makes six different looks…and if I had more time, I probably could have done a few more.  Here you see it as it is, out of the box from Baiastice Continue reading

You Talkin' To ME?

Don’t let the Angel Jeans Fool You. I’m a mean girl.

Okay, I might only be PARTIALLY mean.  I look kinda tough in that shot though.

Cajsa named the set Jean Genie, which was what I was listening to on my evening commute……and what I was originally going to call MY post but that looking over the should is just so TOUGH GIRL! Continue reading

I Wanna Be Barbie, That B!TCH Has Everything!!

When searching for different Halloween options, I picked up several last year that were just casual fun and this Barbie Princess dollarbie is still one of my faves. I picked it up on ONREZ but it’s still available at her in world store.  Continue reading

Siobhan del Shai

It’s been a long dry spell for us Casa del Shai addicts but the new season brings us some new fashions that have that unmistakable Shai Delacroix texturing mastery.

The dress, Siobhan, comes in 4 color options, including this orange tartan. It’s system clothing making it a perfect dress to wear around the grid with a jacket like this lovely leather jacket from Cachet.

V-A-M-P Vamp

Rockberry’s freebie Halloween dress, the Vamp Dress, doesn’t really have to be limited to Halloween. It has lovely design details like the belted corset which I would have loved to have on a separate layer. Of course, the batwing scalloping on the bodice is  a bit witchy, but witchiness like vampishness are year round qualities.

No Pixels Were Harmed in the…

One of my favorite groups is the Swedish group Hedningarna and one of my favorite songs of theirs is Räven.  You can hear a clip here.  I thought if it as soon as I put on the wonderfully luxuorious red fox jacket from bijou as the name translates to Fox Woman.  The song is quite ferocious,  so I left off the lower half of the fur coat, making it a jacket to wear with leather pants – much fiercer that way, I thought.

Incidentally, this texture is also in the free texture pack I mentioned in the previous post.
