This Dress Does Double Duty

After trekking far and wide for my still unfinished project and doing 4 photo shoots for clients, I felt like dressing up a bit last night – but not too much. There’s this lovely gown from Mondira with subtly shaded fabric that is breathtaking – but it was a bit too dressy for my mood. But why let that stop me from wearing it? Continue reading

Walk This Way

posted by Gidge Uriza

A relaxed weekend in the mountains (which is where I’ve been) called for something casual and fun. It’s still hot hot hot hot hot here, so even being in the mountains doesn’t provide cool breezes for relief at night. Kunglers PARADISE outfit is so bright and cheery, yet stylishly casual, I couldn’t resist it.

I don’t wear many “tank” tops and as I’ve said I don’t really wear Tshirts so finding casual pieces to wear that I like to wear always makes me happy.  I’ve struggled with SOME prim babydoll top attachments recently – they attach strangely, they move oddly, they’re just over-all wonky. This one seems to be big enough  that I could make a very slight adjustment and it didn’t hang bizarrely into my butt with my AO on (which as you can imaagine, makes a difference). Continue reading

Curio-usly Mismatched

A short post while I work away on my blog project that I hope to finish tonight – I am halfway there. It takes some running around in-world, so I dressed for urban trekking in this fun jacket from LBD. The colors demanded an equally vibrant makeup, so I wore Curio’s Mismatch. There is a close up after the cut. Continue reading

Not Trying to Be Lazy

So, I am super busy on a project for the blog – hoping to finish it up tonight or early tomorrow. I would tell you what it is, but then what fun is that?  Instead, here’s a quick take shot on the wonderful pose dolly at Kari – a new store with clothing and two of the most fun poses props I have seen in a while. Don't Cry For Me, I'm Evita

Posted by Gidge Uriza

A good friend of mine always keeps a large stable of women in SL. He gives them land and houses and they sometimes rotate who is #1 and sometimes there is a long term #1 like now, but no matter what – when Evita blows into town – all bets are off. Continue reading

Pt. 3, Taking Lingerie Public

Besides corsets, teddies and camisoles bodysuits and unies can also be worn as a blouse, particularly if they are as luscious as this one from Style Starts Here. Although tantalizingly sheer, there are strategically placed embellishments and a discreet lining that makes this a perfectly presentable though flirtatious top to pair with low-cut jeans or a skirt. I thought it important that the skirt sit on the hip, not the waist because the top’s cut out looks unbalanced with the skirt at the waist. It is important for that cut out shape to reach its maximum size and begin curving back in order for it to look right.

Taking Lingerie Public, Part Two

One of my frustrations with Second Life® is that despite having utterly gorgeous lingerie we seldom get to wear it. Even when the layer is free, we often cannot wear our lingerie because straps will show or the thong will rise higher than our pants layer. Yes, we can wear it for our sweethearts, but in that case, how long does it really stay on? Last week I shared one strategy for taking our lingerie public. I decided I would make a continuing series on this topic, examples of lingerie I dragged out of the closet to give them some air.

Today I am using the most common, tried and true technique, wearing a lovely corset as a top. This stunning corset is from Simone Stern’s Style Starts Here – the Ruched Satin Corset with Gemmed Trim. This one is black but it comes in several other colors as well. The jeweled trim on the back of the corset is stunningly beautiful and such a surprise on lingerie.

Brrr, it got chilly last night!

In an amazing turnaround, the temperature dropped last night so quickly that I almost turned on my heat. Then I had a conversation with myself that went more of less like this:

Heat in July? Are you nuts? But it’s soooo cold! So put on a sweater, silly! oh, yeah!

Funny how you forget those handy dandy sweaters after you move them into the bottom drawer for the summer. Digging out a sweater in RL prompted me to dig out an SL sweater as well – to prevent any SL goose bumps marring my much beloved new skin from Curio. Continue reading
