I always blame my overdressing on my old friend Jenn Lemmon. She was a courtesan at the Moulin Rouge and she was a notorious OVER dresser. I told her once how much I envied her fantastic gowns, and that I wasn’t going to an event at Moulin Rouge one night because I just didn’t have the clothes for it…….and she laughed.

“Oh Gidge, don’t base your wardrobe on me. I ALWAYS overdress for everything.”

“Always Overdress for Everything” became my mantra the night she gave me L$1500 as a gift to go to Indyra to buy a wild pink gown complete with top hat. I fell in love with fun/nice clothes and HERE WE ARE. Continue reading →

I am probably one of the only ones in SL who is old enough to REMEMBER the Isis/Shazaam power hour but I promise you, it was one of the GREAT moments of Saturday morning television during my childhood.

I ran over to Lemania when I got a notice she had a new dollarbie out – after how spectacular the FIREWORKS dress was I knew she’d cooked up something fantastic.

In honor of PAHFEST coming to Second Life she’s created a MOTOWN series and this one she set out in her celebration hall for a linden. The Cutest Denim Skirt in the Whole Wide World

No, I don’t think that’s hyperbole. I am not a denim lover. I don’t own jeans in RL, when I need to dress casual, I like a nice cotton duck or serge, not denim. So, falling in love with anything denim is a small miracle. But who could resist this delightfully spunky and sassy denim skirt? The prim connection and fit is perfect without even a wiggle’s worth of adjustment. The colors match, the seams line up and it all adds up to a beautiful and perky little summer skirt.

Maht celebrated his RL Bday a few days ago by holding a small listening party for his friends, where we gathered and enjoyed his music.  It was a great opportunity to break out this piece from Kungler’s, which has retro-store chic written all over it.  My grandma’s pearls with a big flowery broach added to an elegant shrug jacket top off the form fitting pinstripe pants – to me this outfit brings a modern cut to a 50s pansuit.  As though I were wealthy, walked into Chanel and said.”I saw this pantsuit in Time Magazine from 1952 – can you spin me out a modern version?” Continue reading →

Treasure Hunting #3

I am wearing two treasure hunt finds now, the skin comes in pouch #15 and there are three skins in the set, with pink, purple and a multi-color (gold/green) makeup. I thought the pink for flattering for this dress, but was really intrigued by the makeup on the colors version. The dress is the gift in pouch #1 – a creamy moire satin with delicious jeweled details on the bodice and straps. I turned full bright off on the skirt prim to photograph it and will leave it off for wearing as I prefer my clothes to not be full bright, most of the time.

I had originally picked out this ensemble for my house party last week, before Alice came along with her mahvelous Peppermint Blue items. So I thought it would be fitting for some time at the lake, since I was in the land of 10,000 lakes.  I only saw like 3 lakes, so I’m not sure where they hide the rest of them BUT this peachy fun bikini definitely lends a white sand beach attitude to the mucky lake water. Silo and I are sometimes considered insanely touristy, both in RL and SL. We like kitsch (aske me about the Elvis shrine at Wang Manor) and touristy fun things. We love to go and DO things, no matter what the cheese factor involved is. This is probably demonstrated best by the fact that when we got married in RL we eloped down in Gatlinburg TN – cheesy kitsch capitol of the USA.
