Sympathy and Trust Abounding

I enjoyed the Hair Fair – I loved the bloggers’ sneak peek on Thursday night though spent too much time dancing and too little time looking considering that we only had a bit over an hour.  Going back primless and fancy free, though, I managed well enough to find some great hair. That includes this other find from Exile.  The most exciting thing about Hair Fair is the new-to-me hair designers I find there, or in this case, forgotten. How could I have forgotten, where was my head?  Certainly not in this luscious hairdo – not until the Hair Fair, that is.

Look at that braid – now have you ever seen such an excellent braid in Second Life before?  My avatar jumped up and down and kicked her heels in the air and did assorted and sundry other expressions of delight when that hair rezzed…it’s yummy. Continue reading

Harmony and Understanding

Harmony and understanding are easy to find when you go to The Refuge and Expansion. I was lucky enough to go their the other day and catch a live concert at the farm house by a marvelous classical guitarist. And lucky enough to be wearing yet another Hair Fair treasure – this time from Damselfly.

We Twinkle Below

House of Heart came through with a hair style that can top any twinkling diva when creating this Tousled confection replete with black ostrich feathers and everything but the cherry on top.Pairing it with this twinkling Twilight dress from the one and only… You know this dress so perfectly epitomizes this designer’s aesthetic that I should not even tell you who she is. You should just know from looking.

Ah! You all guessed Digit Darkes, didn’t you? Go to the head of the class.  Now you really didn’t think I would keep it a secret. Right this moment I am envisioning hundreds of fashionistas wearing this dress and converging together on the wonderful garden at Wanderstill and twinkling and swirling in field after field of flowers. You Twinkle Above Us

Another great find from the Hair Fair was this extravagantly rich Wild Orchid updo from Exile complete with assorted differently colored wild orchids in the packl. It’s the perfect hair for when you really want to dress up and wear something as rich and exciting as this dress.

Then Peace Shall Guide the Planets

In this photo, I am wearing Boon hair from the Hair Fair. Boon hair always looks so messy – a lovely naturally messy that I love. I also love that I don’t have to tint Boon hair…it comes right in the shade I want. Now, my gown! Oh wow!

Friday I was making the style notes and the pink tulip necklace I wore was from a shop I didn’t remember ever going to and one that was not in the directory, so I went to get the SLurl and found an amazing store with wonderful clothes…including this Belladonna dress. It moves so wonderfully, I took about a dozen snaps of it swirling around as I changed poses. Continue reading

Quick Look: Tuli & Teal

I am having one of those days (leaving the ATM card in the machine, walking away from the coffee maker with the pot while the coffee pours through the filter, biting into a sandwich at one end while the contents slide safely out the other) so these photos and style notes can stand on their own. Suffice it to say I like the look – love MG Fashion’s Maria Fat Pack and dip into it regularly and think Tuli’s new skin is smoochaliscious. Continue reading

Calling on the Classics

After the avant garde funkiness of the Kitty coat yesterday, I felt a need to reach for the classics – those wonderful trusty items that never fail. And what could be more classic than a lovely plaid skirt, an oxford-cloth shirt and a cardigan. This stunningly well-made shirt is from Muism – and the prim parts fit flawlessly with just a tiny bit of adjustment. With it, I wore the Irelyn Houndstooth scarf to match the fabric in the Vogart skirt.

The skirt is from Vogart and as always is a perfectly made a-ling prim skirt.  I wish Vogart made more skirts because Vogart skirts are the most well-made I have. They simply look perfect everytime. The cardigan is from Frangipani Designs – a simple classic with classic good looks. Continue reading

The, uh, stuff that dreams are made of.

I have always liked that little “uh” when Bogart speaks the famous quote in The Maltese Falcon. Sometimes it’s the flaw that elevates the excellent to the extraordinary. After all, where would Lauren Hutton be without her gap? In the case of the new Tuli Elizabeth skin, I submit that the little mole under the left eye is what moves this skin into the extraordinary. In the past I have read the rave reviews of Tuli skins with bemusement as they never seemed to suit my face. This one, though, is a perfect fit. Continue reading

Tuli Scrumptious

Tuli group gifts are always truly scruptious and this one was particularly so. The Shy makeup of the new Elizabeth skin in all skin tones, I fell in love with the soft blush of the cheeks and the dusting of freckle. I would have dressed in something frilly and femme, but a dear friend had returned to SL after several months hiatus, so we went exploring – and that requires sensible clothing. Sensible, but fun clothing. Continue reading
