Curio-sity Captured Cajsa

This is a quickie. I had another post ready to go when I forgot the store name on the skirt and in searching, discovered it was from a Business in a Box – and who can tell if it’s legitimate or not, so I threw everything out. However, I did have this cute outfit from Beauty Avatar that I wanted to highlight for its casual simplicity. I tossed it on with those elegant go-with-anything silk heels from Paper Couture and a Group Gift necklace I received from Curio today. The only thing that would make me happier with the top is if the two pieces of the top were on separate layers instead of one – because I like to play with my clothes.

Besides, what I really want you to focus on is the skin. Isn’t it lovely? Continue reading

Roses in Denmark

I wandered around Denmark yesterday, looking at the lighthouse, the ships and the village. It was a lovely sim and they had beautiful weather while I was there, with just a light breeze. Luckily, I was wearing a light sweater and was perfectly comfortable. ; )

I layered a baby pink cotton camisole with a lightweight rose pink one-button sweater and a lovely red and pink gingham skirt. The lovely Sasy Marakesh Passion Sandals were a perfect match. What really made the outfit though was the rose flower necklace from chicoco, set off with earrings from DeLa and bangles from VG Republic. For additional photos you can check my Flickr. Please pass the Dijon

Some words sound delicious and lovely. Words like silk, charmeuse, aubergine, melon and dijon. Lovely words for lovely things. Then there are the harsh words like cactus, hammer, crankcase and mustard. Still mustard can be lovely and not just on a hot dog. For example, this gorgeous sheer overblouse and tank from Persona are mustard and they are a glorious color. I paired them with the brown with yellow tulips skirt and belt from mocca and was as happy as someone with a hot dog with all the fixings. Now if she only called the color Dijon! ^-^ There are more photos on flickr, if you care to see different angles. Continue reading

Glitter Baby Pink Puff

Glitter Baby Pink Puff

By Cajsa Lilliehook

I was in a shopping mood and knew I would be trekking hither and yon and I surely did, visiting shopping centers from Portland to Milan to Mumbai to Tokyo and ports in between. A girl’s gotta be comfortable when hopping around like that, especially walking from one end of a sim the other to make sure not to miss the little boutiques with great craft, originality and no land description. Paper Couture’s silk wrapped low heels are perfect shoes for long walks, the heels comfortably low, but still fashionably chic.

And then….I could not resist putting on some of my purchases as I went along. First up, I found this lovely purple blouse @ Emery. It comes with black slacks, but then I went to Callie Cline’s store and noticed for the first time that there is an upstairs…and found these pants so aptly named Glitter Baby Pink Puff. They come in several colors, but it looks as though the basic pants are the same and the color differences are in the top and one pants alternate…and that this particular pant i am wearing comes with any color option.

The find of the day however was this perfectly messy hair from creamshop. Why is it perfect? Well, in RL I fell asleep on wet, uncombed hair (bad, bad, bad) and this is my RL hairstyle today. What synchronicity! I could not resist wearing it.

Persona's Bonny Bonnie Blouse & a word about flesh melt

Bonnie Blue

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook

Polka dots are such fresh and lively prints. Just putting on one polka dot item will wake you up almost as much as a cappuccino, but imagine the effect of layering polka dots on polka dots with your accessories. In this outfit, I even feel ready to tackle my laundry.

Okay, I love this blouse. It’s light and airy like Spring and it makes me feel happy to wear it. And…it’s so versatile i hardly spent much time at all thinking about what to wear with it, some blue pants from eLDee and blue shoes from paper couture and I was set to go. Except….gotta wear my Nanogunk socks.

Now, if you have not run to Nanogunk and spent the princely sum of 10L for the their socks and gloves, what are you waiting for? Everyone needs a pair – men and women. You know how when you wear bell sleeves or bell pants, your flesh expands to the width of the sleeve or pant leg and you get this ugly fleshy bottom? Not if you put these socks or gloves on, they leave your hands and legs uncovered but cover that flesh melt with a nice shadowy black so your legs and arms look the way they should. Best 10L I ever spent.

She says pink, I say purple

Checker Dress Pink

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook

Is this pink or is this purple? While not a matter of earth-shattering urgency, I would like to know so I put it away in a folder where I can easily find it again. Yes, I am one of those irritatingly organized people. My clothes are organized into types of items (such as Dresses: Everyday, Dressy & Formal) and then within each of those folders, there are color folders. So my eyes say put this in the Everyday/Purple folder but my head sees the word Pink in the name and all of a sudden I want to put it in Everyday/Pink.

I know I will want to wear it again. The lovely bias tape edging in plum, the darling criss-cross belt combine to give it a sweet, delicate feel. It also comes with a short, snug miniskirt and comes in several colors in season fat-packs. More photos on my Flickr.

More More Paper Couture

Paper Couture's Rosette

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook

Oh goodie! Another photo contest for which I procrastinated to the end. Of course, this one is for Paper Couture whose clothes I have been remixing lately. One day I will remix this one, too, but don’t be holding our breath for it.So, I need to choose a photo by tomorrow. This session I was feeling goofy and this dress made me feel even more playful so I kind of went astray with the photo shoot. I took a few conventional shots like the one above at the end in case I lose my nerve.

Opheila @ VersaillesThis session got off to the weird start after I opened this new beta skin from Free Speerit. It has tears – not the mascara dripping down your face tears, but subtle drops of fluid that slid gently down the cheeks. Tears, not a mask. The other element going into my thought process was the whimsy of wearing that ridiculous Madame Pompadour hair – the Queen of Roses. Tears, pre-revolutionary hair and a super frilly dress, where better to shoot than Versailles.

Falling in the fountainfountainBut the lag!!!! I tried walking and promptly fell in the fountain. So I decided I had to leave. I was not really going to succeed when it took 5 minutes to circle my avatar or 3 minutes to zoom a bit closer. So no more last days of Marie Antoinette, but first, I took the time to snap some shots in the fountain. Continue reading

Paper Couture Challenge

p.c. challenge

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook

Okay, the official meme about Paper Couture is “Lovely, but I wouldn’t want to live there.”  That’s not truly fair. Yes, their clothes are a bit avant garde and maybe a tad outre, but you can live in them if you use your imagination. Think of this as the House of Lu’s gift to you, forcing you to move beyond folder-dressing and wearing pre-packaged outfits.  Paper Couture wants you to be more than a clothes hanger and become a fashionista.

So, here’s my remix of the top of the Romantic Soliloquy top. In the flickr photo set you can see I also played around with adding and removing the leg o’mutton sleeves. I can see this top with the velvet skirts from Zagoskin, the tight classic pants from Armidi, with Digit Darkes Developer Pants – the black brocade. Oh, and Digit Darkes has a colored jacket with puff sleeves that might look lovely over the lower layer.  Just because I am not wearing that hoop skirt frame that comes with it, doesn’t mean I can’t wear it a dozen different way.

Paper Couture's Romantic Soliloquy

Romantic Soliloquy

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook

This is the lovely Romantic Soliloquy. Yes, I admit it, I am not wearing that skirt anywhere. It’s not me to run around showing my panties. Even super duper pretty panties. Even bloomers. Just not me. But oh, that bodice.  I would buy that skirt twice over to have that lovely bodice.
