The Earth Says Hello

and so do dragonflies.

I gave a big hello to the marvelous biker cap from Argrace and decided to dress up as a Pennzoil Princess in honor of the hat. Setting out to shoot at the Texaco station at Refuge and Prospect I was lucky enough to run into the builder himself – who kindly gave me a dragonfly.  How could I not include it in my shoot…and in this case, take one picture from the dragonfly’s viewpoint.

Then Peace Shall Guide the Planets

In this photo, I am wearing Boon hair from the Hair Fair. Boon hair always looks so messy – a lovely naturally messy that I love. I also love that I don’t have to tint Boon hair…it comes right in the shade I want. Now, my gown! Oh wow!

Friday I was making the style notes and the pink tulip necklace I wore was from a shop I didn’t remember ever going to and one that was not in the directory, so I went to get the SLurl and found an amazing store with wonderful clothes…including this Belladonna dress. It moves so wonderfully, I took about a dozen snaps of it swirling around as I changed poses. Continue reading

When the Moon is in the Seventh House

I had one priority during last night’s pajama party/sneak peek at the Hair Expo. Come what may, I was going to find the incredible Kaori hair from Exile and snatch it up. And I did and thanks to that, you see it here in all its wild disarray. I am in love.

So, the Hair Expo? Laggy of course, but hey, swimming and shopping at the same time must do wonders of aerobic goodness for your pixel heart. Overwhelming – so much hair and only one head. But we all know what it really is. It’s the Fashionista’s Big Rock Candy Mountain!

But that’s not all today, Stiletto Moody has new shoes though she’s only teasing up by letting us see them. They don’t go on sale until 6PM tonight. Still, a girls gotta look. Continue reading

Quick Look: Tuli & Teal

I am having one of those days (leaving the ATM card in the machine, walking away from the coffee maker with the pot while the coffee pours through the filter, biting into a sandwich at one end while the contents slide safely out the other) so these photos and style notes can stand on their own. Suffice it to say I like the look – love MG Fashion’s Maria Fat Pack and dip into it regularly and think Tuli’s new skin is smoochaliscious. Continue reading

Calling on the Classics

After the avant garde funkiness of the Kitty coat yesterday, I felt a need to reach for the classics – those wonderful trusty items that never fail. And what could be more classic than a lovely plaid skirt, an oxford-cloth shirt and a cardigan. This stunningly well-made shirt is from Muism – and the prim parts fit flawlessly with just a tiny bit of adjustment. With it, I wore the Irelyn Houndstooth scarf to match the fabric in the Vogart skirt.

The skirt is from Vogart and as always is a perfectly made a-ling prim skirt.  I wish Vogart made more skirts because Vogart skirts are the most well-made I have. They simply look perfect everytime. The cardigan is from Frangipani Designs – a simple classic with classic good looks. Continue reading

I'll see your Donna Summers and raise you Chaka Khan

You ain’t got no kind of feeling inside
I got something that will sure ’nuff set your stuff on fire
You refuse to put anything before your pride
I got something that will knock all your pride aside

Tell me something good (tell me, tell me, tell me)
Tell me that you love me
Tell me something good (tell me, tell me, tell me)
Tell me that you like it, yeah

Tuli Scrumptious

Tuli group gifts are always truly scruptious and this one was particularly so. The Shy makeup of the new Elizabeth skin in all skin tones, I fell in love with the soft blush of the cheeks and the dusting of freckle. I would have dressed in something frilly and femme, but a dear friend had returned to SL after several months hiatus, so we went exploring – and that requires sensible clothing. Sensible, but fun clothing. Continue reading

Wherein Yak & Yeti Go Crazy

Every once in awhile a fashion notice will pass by that makes you go hmmm. That’s what happened on Sunday when along came a notice from Yak & Yeti announcing everything in their store was now free. See, when you see a notice like either think it’s poor products, it’s a trick or, if you cynicometer is running low, you think you need to check it out.

So I did and it’s not junk and it’s not a trick and yes, you need to check it out. Yak & Yeti offers traditional Nepalese and Indian clothing and jewelry as well as adorable shoulder pets. That panda  at Yak & Yeti almost tempts me into shoulder pet-keeping. I got some wonderful jewelry there, including this ruby Bollywood set. Included, but not worn are two styles of nose-ring and a stone for the forehead. To wear with it, I decided to become a Dancing Queen. Continue reading

Down the Rabbit Hole

When I went to Chakryn Forest I had no idea I would be falling down the rabbit hole. I just knew I had dressed up like a giant salt water taffy and should stay away from seaside resorts. You know, my favorite group in Second Life® is the Impossible In Real Life group. I get weekly (or thereabouts) notices of new builds and highlights – places to go, things to see. Many of the places I use in my photos I found through NPIRL. Chakryn Forest is just such a place and home of the group owner and organizer, Bettina Tizzy.

This is a forest for wandering – there’s hidden caves, underwater forests and a handsome Frenchman waiting to show you around, saying “Venez!” Actually, I presume he is not always there, but I was lucky enough to tp there when he was channeling his inner tour guide. Anyway, he’s the one that showed me through the rabbit hole.

This is just part of a lovely House of Cards Tableau, but i will let you find the rest yourself. Just find the White Rabbit and go straight south. Continue reading
