Dress Me Up: Cajsa by Heloise

Heloise Merlin should be dressing Gidge who is the aficianado of kimonos. She would swoon for this brief: “How about a cute kimono from Nonko Romankan for a change? Maybe with some hair from CTK to go along with it?”  She provided SLURLS, how could I say no?

Dress Me Up: Cajsa by TearSong

TearSong Vaughan suggested I raid Rebel Xtravaganza and it must have been fate, because no sooner did I go to Rebel Xtravaganza than I noticed a lucky chair hiding under the stairs. I have been there a dozen times and this is the first time I noticed that lucky chair and even better, the lucky letter was C. Even better the prize included the exact two items TearSong asked for in her brief.

May I suggest the mellow skirt and winterproof sweater from Rebel Xtravaganza? 🙂 You can pick which color 😉 Maybe combined with a pair of funky leggings and large boots.

Green Christmas

My friend Trinity Eales of Shameless dropped this lovely gown on me a few weeks ago. Trinity doesn’t follow fashion blogs so I doubt she intended for me to blog this – just sharing something she thought I would like. She knows green is my favorite color. I was really excited to see the dress, too, as it’s very different from what she usually makes.  I am not positive, but I think this might be her first formal dress. At any rate, I love the rich emerald satin and the elegant simplicity of the design.

How's About a Free Dress?

posted by Gidge Uriza

Cajsa has been singing the praises of Little Rebel anytime we have to go somewhere that low ARC is appropriate, and sometimes just because she wants to. I was one of those people plagued by the SYSTEM SKIRT conundrum (they didn’t work if you don’t know – for some of us) so I never really saw the POINT of bothering with shopping at Little Rebel.

It almost seemed cruel to taunt myself with clothes I couldn’t actually WEAR OUT.

Colder Weather

The weather is getting colder and wetter and the rainy season has set in for the winter. But that doesn’t mean doom and gloom, particularly is your wet weather gear is as bright and cheery as this Lima trench coat from Armidi. Yes, it’s last season, but who cares when it suits the weather and lightens your mood?  And talk about mood lifting, the dress underneath will increase your happiness quotient by at least 10 degrees.

Kinetic Energy

Gidge and I received some fsahion blog review goodness from Digit Darkes and because Sasy, the Addictive factotum, is a super thoughful sort of factotum, she knows our color tastes and always sends us different colors. So, there’s Gidge in sunset and me in forest.

Digit Darkes is a bold, fearless designer who never hesitates to mix prints, to use bold colors and to go all out and wild. This time she went super-wild with a prim skirt that is lit from within. I admit, I had my doubts when I first put it on, but then I don’t wear bling. However, this doesn’t have the feel of bling…and I think because it’s very kinetic and never static, rather than overwhelming, it’s just eye-catchingly beautiful.

How Can I Be Sick………?

……When I am so CLEARLY dressed for the ball!

Yes ladies, I’m totally stricken with the plague. I’ve neglected all my blogging responsibilities in favor of some serious sleep, and pillow drooling.  Surprisingly, the pillow drooling has not been as therapeutic as I’d imagined.

But I digress……. Continue reading

A rose is a rose

Kuri’s Style has many dainty and feminine dresses including a lovely 5L bargan that several other people have blogged. When I went to get that freebie, a couple other things caught my eye, including the sweet dress this top belongs too. The other outfit I had just taken off was quite similar so I wanted a different look and opted to dig an old skirt out of my closet to finish the look.

Fairies and Roses

Fairies should not be counted out for Halloween – although the grimmer spirits of witches and goblins and trolls and vampires will cover the earth, don’t discount those mischievious and impish fairies. Sure, they dress a little lightly for the snowy October weather in Minnesota and Alaska, but they might be nice and cosy in sunnyy Australia and Paraguay.
