I went to Tusk last night -ooh, it’s so perfect for Halloween. In fact, it’s just beautiful all around with wonderful hidden grottos for cuddling with your significant ones, a skating pond with a few eerie shadows and then the marvelous castle – where Silent Sparrow is among the retailers renting space. I had not planned to buy anything, but this outfit at the Silent Sparrow satellite store was too perfect for the setting to pass up. You could call it Serendipity. In fact, you have to call it Serendipity because that’s the name of the dress.

Color Me Cashmere
Cashmere – the must luxurious and sensuous of knits. It is the epitome of YUM and PixelDolls have been doing cashmere right.
But first, let me just say something about PixelDolls because they along with Digit Darkes and Nyte & Day have a special place in my heart. They were the first three stores I shopped at after Gidge rescued me the day I met her and showed me there was more to Second Life than freebie dungeons.
Yes, she rescued me. I was so dumb I walked under a ramp and got stuck and couldn’t figure out why I could not move and this sweet woman said, “I think you are trying to walk through a wall, dear.” Continue reading
A little bird told me…
My old boyfriend Schrottvogel Wei has earned a good reputation for his swimsuits, but his main focus has been his custom surfboards. However, he is expanding his bikini line, launching his new store VOGEL with 59 new bikinis. Why 59? It just happened that way. Anyway, Vogel means bird, hence the adorable logo on the derriere and in the post title.
Lotus Eating @ Flashman's
I find new-to-me stores all sorts of ways, from FashCon notices, reading about them here on the fashion blogs, or just wandering around a shopping district and discovering their fashionable goodness. But now I have a new way to find out about designers and creators – tips from our blog readership. I got such a tip from regular reader Reverie Boucher who wanted me to check out her favorite store – Black Moon – as she felt it and its designer Vanilla Sola deserved more attention than they receive. Putting Out Fire With Gasoline: Taking Lingerie Public pt. 5
More than one person has called me a pixel prude so imagine my surprise at myself when I opened a review box sent by a new designer with a new store (Jordanna Magic of Magic Kisses) and found myself most drawn to an extremely racy lingerie set. Totally not my style – but there was something about it that I liked. Continue reading
Calling on the Classics
After the avant garde funkiness of the Kitty coat yesterday, I felt a need to reach for the classics – those wonderful trusty items that never fail. And what could be more classic than a lovely plaid skirt, an oxford-cloth shirt and a cardigan. This stunningly well-made shirt is from Muism – and the prim parts fit flawlessly with just a tiny bit of adjustment. With it, I wore the Irelyn Houndstooth scarf to match the fabric in the Vogart skirt.
The skirt is from Vogart and as always is a perfectly made a-ling prim skirt. I wish Vogart made more skirts because Vogart skirts are the most well-made I have. They simply look perfect everytime. The cardigan is from Frangipani Designs – a simple classic with classic good looks. Continue reading

Omnibus: New Skin Preview, Tattoos, Studio Tour Pt IV
For those of you concerned that blog reading is bloating your inventory, take a deep breath and relax. Today’s post is about two items you can’t buy today. The first is a preview of a new skin from Hart Larsson to be released in September. The skin is a collaboration with Nardya Rousselot, the tattoo artist, and has lovely, feminine tattoos.
To reflect and highlight the tattoo design, I chose a swimsuit that harmonizes perfectly, but is not on sale. It was a group gift from bijou, the Sail Away swimsuit. This was a gift to group members in July – and a good reason to belong to the bijou group. Yes, I know, it’s not subscribe-o-matic and uses up one of those precious slots, but bijou has amazingly generous freebies and group gifts and deserves its 4% of your group space. Continue reading
Not Trying to Be Lazy
So, I am super busy on a project for the blog – hoping to finish it up tonight or early tomorrow. I would tell you what it is, but then what fun is that? Instead, here’s a quick take shot on the wonderful pose dolly at Kari – a new store with clothing and two of the most fun poses props I have seen in a while. Continue reading
Pt. 3, Taking Lingerie Public
Besides corsets, teddies and camisoles bodysuits and unies can also be worn as a blouse, particularly if they are as luscious as this one from Style Starts Here. Although tantalizingly sheer, there are strategically placed embellishments and a discreet lining that makes this a perfectly presentable though flirtatious top to pair with low-cut jeans or a skirt. I thought it important that the skirt sit on the hip, not the waist because the top’s cut out looks unbalanced with the skirt at the waist. It is important for that cut out shape to reach its maximum size and begin curving back in order for it to look right.
