Quick Look:Naive

posted by Gidge Uriza

This is where I wish I was, snuggled up in super soft jammies. However – I may still be in my jammies but I’ m minutes fromwork clothes.

I love a store that dabbles in various fashion elements and Naive runs a gamut from Wedding Formal to these cute jammies. I’m wearing DRAMA QUEEN and COUNTING SHEEP.  Why is it I love SL Jammies so much? I have no idea yet I love to dress up in them.

I chose Aleri Darkes Virgo – Snuggle makeup – I mean, it’s CALLED Snuggle. How could I resist?

Grown-Up Gingham

We are so used to seeing gingham in table cloths and children’s clothes we forget how sophisticated it can look. The  designer of Anuenue has no such preconceptions though and boldly produced several pair of ginghams for grownups including this magnificent blue and brown gingham milled-cotton pair of pants.  Adding a baby blue camisole from Celestial Studios and a lovely cashmere jacket from Casa del Shai makes a casual, but fashionable outfit for shopping and girls’ night out.

At Last

The snow leopard coat from Endeavor seems to have been made for the new At Last dress from A-Bomb. Even the attachment points are different so the coat does not knock off the fur trim on the dress.

At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song

The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys

posted by Gidge Uriza

Okay the post is about the dress – but in this shot, all I could think of was those rocking boots. **Ahem, steps onto soapbox**….It is better that you have ONE of something GOOD vs. 20 of something crappy.***Steps down off of soap box***.

There I said it.

It goes for the dress too.

I love the various forms fashion takes……this latex sheath (I dunno what else to call it) can be futuristic, retro or otherwordly. It really put me in mind of Priss from Blade Runner – which is probably why I brought out Digit’s Feathered Skin from her new UnDress line. Continue reading

Five, Five, Five Dresses in One

Sascha Frangelli of Sascha’s Designs is very generous with her skirt options, providing you with everything from mini, to opera, to full length and then from narrow to expansive silhouettes. Did I say expansive? Make that explosive, at least with this exquisitely regal gown.

Her Name Was Lola

posted by Gidge Uriza

Our friend Maht had a gallery showing of his photography a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to pick up something new to wear but wasn’t made of lindens that day.

It’s days like that, when I say “Thank God for Bare Rose”. The prices area always excellent and you get a nice assortment of colors of most styles that you purchase. This dress came in three colors (I think, truthfully it could’ve been four) and was so boobariffic I had to rock my LOLA shape with it. Continue reading

Sugar Sweet

Cube Sugar is new to me and what a find it was for me. I definitely will be going back again and again. These pink and teal plaid pants came from there and I could not be happier. I love the look. I am delighted that they are mod, allowing me to widen the bottom just enough to go over the tops of my ankle boots. I love everything about them, including the way the seams meet – a challenge with plaids.

Girlie Girl

I love the girlie girl outfits with full skirts and lots of lace – and this lovely Angel’s Kiss lace dress in brown delivers. There’s lace on the skirt, a lace sash, lace on the bodice, a lace ribon and a lace jacket with frothy lacy sleeves. It’s Lace-tastic!

Grateful Gray

Snuggly comfort can be stylish  – something beautifully demonstrated with this skirt from Miu and the sweater set from DP YumYum. Lovely  little details like the tie on the skirt or the differently colored buttons on the sweater show designers who pay attention to the nuances of style and share a little wink of delight with their customers.
