Brrrrrrrr, I Need a Coat!

posted by Gidge Uriza

So I’m sick. In RL. I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say that there is snot, a sore throat that disallows proper speech and hot burning ears. There is also some coughing.

Consquently, I’m bitter.

When rifling through for something to put on for ambling around the grid the other night, the only thing I wanted was SOMETHING WARM.  I remembered something wonderful that was distributed by Peppermint Blue (and I believe might still be available on the wall at the SilkRoad Location) – this awesome winter outfit from Izumiya. The Great Pumpkin

You know what I said about being ware of Holiday-specific clothing that you cannot wear any other time of year?  Well, rules are meant to be broken, especially when ithe entire outfit is only 75L, made by Miffy, one of my earliest friends in Second Life and to top it all off, it’s crazy as in crazy cute. We've Got System Skirts - And We're Not Afraid to Use Them

In the middle of a shoot the other night Cajsa and I both got the group notice that there was about to be a fashion show – in approximately 30 minutes. We decided we would finish up the shoot and then slip into something LOW ARC yet fashionably acceptable, and roll over to see the show. It was designer we both adore so we were really looking forward to it.

28 minutes and 147 hairstyles reviewed by Cajsa later we were dressed and ready to go. So we pop over to the show.

Me n' My Droogs Can't Make Up our Rassoodocks What To Do

I originally had a mind to write this entire post a la A Clockwork Orange but figured many of you might poke out your minds eye trying to translate Alex’s lingo. I also thought that I might poke out my own brain trying to DO the translation, so decided to let it go.

I’ve been looking for something to wear with these excellent boots of Miffy’s (disclosure – from my shop Don’t Ask) and while doing the car wash shoot the other night, Cajsa and I wandered into Go Ask Alice and I spied these cargo shorts……and a light went off.  WIth prim pocket attachments for a more authentic worn pocket look I’m in love with these. Slouchy, casual, comfortable, and just perfect for a night of ULTRA-VIOLENCE if you ask me. Continue reading

Living Dead Girl

I’ve been collecting boots. This time last year I owned Zero Boots. Now, I’m a boot freak. I love big clunky tough girl boots. I try to keep my eye out for outfits to wear with boots, especially now that I’m heading into fall clothes – and when this one came out from Kunglers I knew it was exactly right to go with Miffy’s Boots. Chantilly Lace

Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail hanging down
That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk
Makes the world go round

Okay, I just love that song and would dig it out for anything, but it seems to fit with the lovely lace in this jacket. I have another prim jacket of lace made by Rano Noel that I blogged recently. Sadly her store is closed, her website is down and she has not responded to several im’s and note card inquiries. I can only conclude the has left SL for awhile.

Because that jacket was a wardrobe staple I pulled out a lot, I knew I had to find one that met those same needs so I would not be repeatedly blogging one item that you have no chance of finding. So I asked my friend Miffy to make a new one. Basically what was needed was a prim jacket (so you can wear it over those frequent jacket-layer-only tops), that was tintable and had a lace texture to reveal the top underneath and not look too heavy. Meanwhile Back at the Ranch…

While Gidge is off vacationing at the Bates Hotel, I thought I would laze about in this cute little outfit featuring a great new shirt from Ce Cubic Effect and an old skirt from our mutual friend Miffyhoi Rosca. This is the first skirt Miffy made, and she made it in red, green and brown plaids. Being an autumn-loving person, I immediately fell in love with all three. When I put on my new shirt last night, I immediately knew Miffy’s skirt would be a perfect option. Continue reading

I Ain't No Holla Back Girl

Miffy was horrified that I had been in SL over a year and only owned on proper set of boots. So when she gave me these – I knew I had to rock a fun outfit to go with. Something MAD MAX vs. spoiled Diva was what I was going for.

Digit Darkes had a L$1 sale on a hidden item, the Piper shirt and it was an incredible find.  Some designers do separates well, some do full outfits, but Digit does both and it’s so much fun to pick up a new piece and see what you can do with it. Continue reading
