However, unlike the Executioner, this is not a list of those who won’t be missed. In fact, it’s a list of stores some fellow plurkers thought have been missed. So…. list in hand I went off shopping and found some real treasures – and believe me, I will go back to those stores in the future. I used some items from that shopping trip to pull together this fun outfit including the truly magnificent plaid pants, or should I say pantz, from Nomine. I added an old blouse from Street Magic and a waistcoat that was sent to me by Ayumi back in May but that I didn’t even notice until last night – a sad reflection on the state of my inventory.

Nyte'N'Day Take Two
So having established that Nyte’N’Day produces new, current and luxurious styles, let me show you how Nyte’N’Day also rocks. Take for example, this top/minidress called Snap. Now how many people dare put something out in Blaze Orange? Not that many. Nyte has this luscioius and versatile dress out in several colors and also selles a lovely corset that could be paired with it as well. I decided to go a different route, though and grabbed the belts on the the jacket layer from one of Zaara’s old dresses.
Fabulous Fashion TV – It's Fabulous!
posted by Gidge Uriza
I spent a ridiculous amount of time agonizing over what to wear during my 8 minutes of fame on Fabulous Fashion TV. In addition to being unbelievably disorganized, confused and tardy during the entire process – I was nervous.
Unbelievably so.
Here is the kind of paranoid crap that ran through my mind.
- Who should I wear?
- Will someone be insulted if I DON’T wear them?
- Should I wear what I’m talking about or not?
- What sort of look should I go for?
- Should I go for any look at all?
- Would Would Joan Jett Do?
So all this aside, I decided to embrace the stylists credo (after all I was the guest stylist although I wasn’t doing Angie Mornington’s hair) and wear all black. They do this to minimize their own fabulousness and to make it all about YOU – if you’ve ever wondered why some do that. Really upscale places tend to (or neutral colors). Continue reading
Simple, Elegant
posted by Gidge Uriza
So wandering around Zaara I spied her collection of dresses from the Amsterdam Fashion Week and as one who covets that which they do not possess (such as the ability to ever attend runway events bcse of their times) I knew I had to have one of them.
I picked up Melissa and ran back to my house to accessorize it, in love with the slink line (very Oscar de la Renta from a time before you pixels were born) and simplicity of color blocking.
And then I was stumped. Continue reading
Right Off The Rack

It’s fun to take a designers creations, especially when they are separates, and to really break them out – stretch how cool they can be, and show their versatility.
But sometimes, you just like the pieces the way the designer put them together at the shop. I’m sure Zaara didn’t mean for these pieces to go together 100% of the time, but man, they are pretty together. Continue reading
Round Buttons
Oh I do love the round buttons that trim this jacket from Zaara – a jacket I am sure you will see again and again as the truly well-made and flexible clothing items do get a lot of wear and air time. I decided to follow through on the theme of gold buttons – and chose the lovely necklace from Genesis that the green blouse from Zaara because of their gold buttons – but the piece that is the buttoniest of all is the pants from TOSL – the wonderful Sergeant Pepper pants. I have worn them before in another color – but this time I am grabbing the teal pants and yes, they work with that top.
And now for something completely different
Feeling a bit fey last night, I decided to take the Cambridge Cuffed shirt from Armidi and see if I could give it a “quaintly unconventional” look. After all, what could be more conventional than a plain button-down shirt? A fun challenge, then, to give it an unconventional twist. Browsing my inventory, I tried a few skirts, but the instant I put on Nell from LBD, the search was over.
Belly-dancing at Zaara's
So I went to Zaara’s new sim tonight, eager to see what someone with her eye for texture detail, depth and love of warm, vibrant colors would do with an entire sim to play with. Oh my! Please give her more sims to decorate. It’s beautiful and vibrant and lively and I had fun exploring… and dancing in the dance hall across from the main store. Just click on the carpet and you will be dancing as well as Salome.
Christmas Quickie #6
Just in time for the holidays and New Year’s, Zaara has released her most beautifully alluring gown yet. Releasing it in red, gold and black, she gives you choices for the coming New Year’s parties, including black for a black and white ball. However, only the colors give it a seasonal appeal, so you can wear it all year round. She also put this glorious jewelry out as a gift in the anteroom of her store.
Bare Rose Appreciation Challenge #3
I had this bright idea last night to try to double up on the challenge – producing a literary character to meet Teagan’s challenge and finding some or all of that character’s clothing at Bare Rose. I might have made it, too, if I had not been reading such a darn good book that I missed by bus stop and rode the bus 49 extra blocks before noticing. And to top it off, when I asked the driver if he was turning round, he said it was his last run. So I had to get off the bus and wait for a returning one. I didn’t leave work til nearly 7 so needless to say it was late when I got home. But if you only look at this picture, you might think I succeeded in dressing Nancy Drew at Bare Rose. When I think of Nancy Drew, I think of argyle sweaters and twin sets. Since it’s fall, I chose Argyle in a fabulous Bare Rose fatpack filled with every color in the universe. It’s sold with matching micro-minis but that was too prep school lolita for me.
