Putting Out Fire With Gasoline: Taking Lingerie Public pt. 5

More than one person has called me a pixel prude so imagine my surprise at myself when I opened a review box sent by a new designer with a new store (Jordanna Magic of Magic Kisses) and found myself most drawn to an extremely racy lingerie set. Totally not my style – but there was something about it that I liked. Continue reading

Oooooh SAAAAY Can You SEEEEEEEE….MY EYES?

……If You CAN Then My Hair’s TOO SHORT!

See.

I know songs from Hair!

That particular one, was a favorite in High School – as we were lacquering our hair with more layers of Aquanet and teasing it this way and that, yet dropping those bangs down strategically to look disheveled.

I recently told Cajsa that I think my love affair with Aleri Darkes hair stems from my love of her bangs in the face styles.

I gotta have bangs. And Aleri isn’t shy about shagging up a ‘do with some killer bangs, I tell you that. Continue reading

Vicious Girls 2.0

posted by Gidge Uriza

Looking for a fun Urban Decay sort of spot to shoot, Cajsa and I hearkened back to our past and went to the newly remodeled Vicious Wasteland. With ability to build and run scripts, this is a great spot for shooting photos or people – depending on your preference.

We were choosing to spotlight the fashions of one of The Grid’s Russian designer’s Olya Lowey. Olya’s designs vary between ultra-modern visions of future fashions to Romanov velvet influences, all with sharp details and many including shoes and accessories. Continue reading

And the Mind's True Liberation

Aquarius!
Aquarius!

For something as grandiose as the Mind’s True Liberation, I really could not imagine the appropriate clothing to depict it – so reached back in time to Coventry and an early act of civil disobedience and nonviolent resistance.

Magic Crystal Revelation

Another Hair Fair Find and yes, another from Bishwear. Can I help it that I like shaky, shakey shakey hair? This style features straighter, more flyaway hair that has a naturalistic look to it. To give myself a crystalline feel, I went for this lovely group gift from Baiastice. Continue reading

No more falsehoods or derisions

This line of the song seems so appropriate today for some reason. However, it is purely coincidence that this wsa the next line of the song.

Yes, it’s  odd title for a post, but I am working my way through the songs of Hair for the Hair Festival. Don’t worry, I will stick to the safe songs and promise not to post a series of entries each titled from lines of Sodomy. So! Hair Fair! My first post after Hair Fair opened was about this stunning hair from Exile that I had noted when it was first shown on the feed and my mad dash to get it during the sneak peek. So, imagine my surprise when I signed on and received a lovely thank you gift….and yet another hair style that I really like. This time with  a cap that changes color with a simple touch. OH! The Schadenfreude!

posted by Gidge Uriza

Schadenfreude is one of those shops I’ve heard about for quite some time but never managed to remember to check out. It just so happened recently that I wandered into the shop while the owner was there (she was very sweet for one of the undead – or fashionably zombified or whatever she was, she was cute!) and I enjoyed getting to talk to her about her designs. While there, I fell in LOVE with these chunky purple shoes. Continue reading

Sympathy and Trust Abounding

I enjoyed the Hair Fair – I loved the bloggers’ sneak peek on Thursday night though spent too much time dancing and too little time looking considering that we only had a bit over an hour.  Going back primless and fancy free, though, I managed well enough to find some great hair. That includes this other find from Exile.  The most exciting thing about Hair Fair is the new-to-me hair designers I find there, or in this case, forgotten. How could I have forgotten, where was my head?  Certainly not in this luscious hairdo – not until the Hair Fair, that is.

Look at that braid – now have you ever seen such an excellent braid in Second Life before?  My avatar jumped up and down and kicked her heels in the air and did assorted and sundry other expressions of delight when that hair rezzed…it’s yummy. Continue reading
