Adventures In An Off Road Coupe

With no real destination in mind I got behind the wheel at sunset and decided to travel off the beaten path. I just needed to get somewhere I hadn’t been, somewhere to be a silent version of me for a day perhaps, one where I could reflect and think alone.

I have a new car, so what better time to go exploring?

I knew I was in the right place when I came into a clearing and found the giant Buddha transmitting peace and calm to me. This was where I was going to stay tonight.  Continue reading

Tangled Up in Christmas

Keep Portland Weird

Christmas tree decorating in real life has always been a journey from joyful camaraderie to aggrieved frustration and back again. My family decorated a 17-foot tree and I decorated to top from the balcony off my bedroom while Mom and Dad decorated from below. This would not be so difficult, really, except Mom would get exercised if two ornaments of similar color were in proximity. It’s not that there were identical decorations since there were so many different ornaments, but a pink vintage ornament next to a pink modern ornament was not okay. The tinsel had to be individually draped placed, no tossing! But in the end it was always fun after the defective bulbs were identified and replaced, the tinsel evenly balanced, and the colors distributed with the precision of a drill team.

Keep Portland Weird

When I moved to Oregon, I had the brilliant idea of getting my own tree and chose the aromatic Western Red Cedar. It was beautiful! Until I tried to put an ornament on it, then the branch sagged and the ornament slid off. It had no oomph! I had to tie every ornament on the tree. A lot of work, but it sure did smell great. This tree from moss&mink at The Arcade was so much easier. Now if I could just rez it in my real life living room.

Maitreya released LARA 4.0 with BENTO Hands and that’s big news on the grid today. In other news you’ve probably got minutes left before COLLABOR88 tears down so really, hop to it if you haven’t. I’ve got my coffee, I’ll wait while you run over. Continue reading

Lazy Days with Collabor88 and The Arcade

“Sometimes, when we cannot attain the freedom we are fighting for, we free ourselves by carving a new path to freedom.”It’s a good think I got this gorgeous rare bed from the DRD gacha at The Arcade because it’s perfect for lazing about and so are some of the new releases from Collabor88

Enter The Succulents

I’m missing some sort of female knowledge base, wherein information about plants is kept. I always feel like I’m supposed to know wtf some plant is, and really my knowledge base is limited to roses, daisies, dandelions and possibly tulips if they aren’t strangely flowered.

So when I got to rezz these succulents from MISH MISH my brain said SO THAT’S WHAT THOSE ARE! I’ve heard this term forever, I had no idea. Also, I’ve seen this plant a million times and had no idea what it was. Continue reading

“Look round and round upon this bare bleak plain, and see even here, upon a winter's day, how beautiful the shadows are!" Charles Dickens
The newest dress from Thalia Heckroth™ is all about the back. It is a simple sheath that is quite plain in the front and then, once your back is turned, reveals a lot of skin and a lot of design.
“Look round and round upon this bare bleak plain, and see even here, upon a winter's day, how beautiful the shadows are!" Charles Dickens
That does not mean it is severe. The front has a deep scoop neck and is open under the arms, so it is revealing, but with restraint.

While I Am Sorting

0712_002

While I am sorting the hair from Hair Fair by style so I can shoot the pictures for you, I took a few snaps of this great dress from Thalia Heckroth™. This is only her second release and already she’s working in prints and not doing strapless. That’s ambition. In the distance, you can see some of Half-Deer’s Thomson Gazelles that are available at Collabor88. Continue reading
