B-Girls

No, we’re not going to start popping and locking and dancing hip hop. The B is in reference to Blowpop and Baiastice – two of our fashion addictions. Both Gidge and I are wearing blowpop skins and then new Group gift from Baiastice – a gold, silver and white short cocktail dress that we each mashed up in different directions.

I Went to Wretched Hollow

I read in New World Notes that Wretched Hollow was one of the most popular sims on Koin-Up last week, so I popped over to see why. Well, it’s bucolic with a dash of the mystical. It even has a glass conservatory. What’s not to photograph. Since it was such a romantic scene, I decided to shoot this romantic flowered dress from sonatta morales. I made it slightly more romantic than the original intent by editing the texture just a tiny bit – making the skirt semi-sheer instead of opaque.

Rebel Child

So Tenshi Vielle of Boutique (this is a new name) recently dropped this outfit on me and I had to share it because I love the fabrics.

So Tenshi Vielle of Boutique (Note: That’s a new name.) recently dropped this outfit on me and I had to share it because I love the lovely prints in the dress and the insouciant mix of contrasting prints. Putting it all together with the hat and jewelry that came with – I could not help but think of that tremendously earthy and powerful singer Gretchen Wilson and her song Rebel Child.

Lush Life

Mami Jewell of azul gave me this lush dress a few weeks ago – back when I photographed her for my Double Take project. It was not released yet and she said she had a few things to do before releasing it…though what that could be is not clear as I think it is just so luscious and gorgeous and sexy and hot. It’s just an amazing dress.

Cape Cod Girls

The nautical them of Fleur’s most recent release of Sailor Pants, and striped tube top and v-neck that are perfect worn on top of each other put me in mind of one of those odd albums that was someone’s post Pirates of the Caribbean brainstorm. Called Rogue’s Gallery, it’s an album of contemporary artists singing pirate songs and sea shanties. One includes the unique and unforgettable Cape Cod Girls.

Big Bad Blogger Challenge #4

Alice Chenaux now asks us:  “If there was someone you could trade places with for one day in Second Life, who would it be and why? Bonus points if you find this person and snap a picture with them!” This is hard to answer as  there really is not anyone I would like to trade places with.   For me, Second Life is very much about being and doing what I have created as my life in Second Life –  woman with a creative occupation whose life is unburdened by responsibilities, living somewhat a frivolous and self-indulgent life.   I would not mind logging in as Gidge for an hour and creating some folders for her to sort her inventory into because her inventory is one big long unsorted (ever) mess. Wherever a folder landed when opened, that’s where it’s at.  Then again, perhaps if it were orderly, she might not find anything. What I would really love to do is one of those operations where you can see the desktop of someone else’s computer while they are still there – and see how a few of the jewelers I so admire actually do what they do. I mean, how do they work with such tiny prims, how do they make them so small? How can they see what they are doing? Their work astonishes and amazes me and I would love to be able to watch them work through their eyes. As luck has it, I do have photos of some of the marvelous jewelers who make Second Life much more beautiful for me though I have not yet shot the jeweler who made the lovely necklace in earrings for this outfit.

Are the stars out tonight?

The clothing from Prelude is always elegant and carefully executed. Estelle, this new dress, however, exceeds all my already high expectations.

Are the stars out tonight?
I dont know if its cloudy or bright
cause I only have eyes for you, dear
The moon may be high
But I cant see a thing in the sky
cause I only have eyes for you.

Big Bad Blogger Challenge #3

Alice Chenaux now asks us: You’ve been given a sim of your very own to use for free for one year. However, there are 3 rules. It cannot be residential, it cannot be commercial, and it has to be open to the public. What do you do with it?

Mimikri takes the art of flirty feminity to a new level with Sina.

Mimikri takes the art of flirty feminity to a new level with Sina.

Well, that’s easy. I would make a photo park like what most of the MDR sim was except for the part that was the studio. There were sections with foliage and weather for each part of the year, an underwater sunken ship and underwater volcano, there was a beach, a corn field, three different waterfalls and all sort of box sets up in the sky. It was a photographer’s dream. A dream that poofed. Luckily there are still wonderful places to shoot all about the grid including Ode where the photo above was taken.

I've Got a Little List

However, unlike the Executioner, this is not a list of those who won’t be missed. In fact, it’s a list of stores some fellow plurkers thought have been missed. So…. list in hand I went off shopping and found some real treasures – and believe me, I will go back to those stores in the future. I used some items from that shopping trip to pull together this fun outfit including the truly magnificent plaid pants, or should I say pantz, from Nomine. I added an old blouse from Street Magic and a waistcoat that was sent to me by Ayumi back in May but that I didn’t even notice until last night – a sad reflection on the state of my inventory.

Quick Look: Maple

So I looking for Untone Quilt at an old SLurl, I happened on Maple where real life creations are brought into second life – and the photo of the original is shown so you can see how well the design has been translated. Honestly? I think I like the Second Life versions best.  Here are three lively and fun print blouses from Maple.
