Winter Jefferson, the only sardonic Australian Vampire knight fashionisto on the grid, has issued a challenge that really appealed to me. He has asked fashion bloggers to show some love for June Dion and Bare Rose, the prolific, peripatetic and people-priced store that has been the lifesaver for costume hunters and bargain shoppers across the grid. Winter lists the many reasons to love Bare Rose and I won’t repeat them, just ask that you hop over to In Cold Blood and see if you don’t agree that Bare Rose is well-deserving of a blogging tribute. Take for example, this chidori jacket…
Sometimes I buy impractical things that I do not need for any reason.
Such as dresses composed entirely of sequins. I gotta confess when I saw this dress at Dolly Rock I truly had to run over and pick it up. It’s just such an OUT THERE dress…….cut down to THERE…..tight all around THERE…….with fun photosourced sequin texturing all over. Continue reading
Gidge and I received some fsahion blog review goodness from Digit Darkes and because Sasy, the Addictive factotum, is a super thoughful sort of factotum, she knows our color tastes and always sends us different colors. So, there’s Gidge in sunset and me in forest.
Digit Darkes is a bold, fearless designer who never hesitates to mix prints, to use bold colors and to go all out and wild. This time she went super-wild with a prim skirt that is lit from within. I admit, I had my doubts when I first put it on, but then I don’t wear bling. However, this doesn’t have the feel of bling…and I think because it’s very kinetic and never static, rather than overwhelming, it’s just eye-catchingly beautiful.
So I tried out the new Imprudence viewer tonight and have these photos to show for it – a mashup of Nyte and Day and Digit Darkes. I have to say it was a pleasant experience over all and I am looking forward to being able to change permissions on an entire box of textures at once. However, it has no sound which it should blare in neon so folks don’t spend and hour or more trying to figure out why their sound is not working as I did.

There’s nothing that brightens a rainy day like a bright yellow slicker – and the one from Aoharu is a definite day brightener. It’s slick, shiny and I guarantee your clothes will stay dry if you wear it.

I’ve discovered a new shop to love, thanks to this excellent review pack I was sent from Skin Ficks. My first instinct was, upon hearing the name, that the clothes would be of the SL Hooker-Blingtard variety and I’d throw them out.

So, when I got dressed for the MDR masquerade party last night, I chose the tangled skirt, but changed the rest. The big difference was I added Digit Darkes use with anything anywhere anytime Black Tulle Skirt.
