Fleur Cute

I was surprised by a lovely trio of folders from Roslin Petion of Fleur with the stockings, sweater and dress you see here.  I almost jumped up and down for joy when I put the dress on because I had a very similar one when I was a kid – a lovely wool jumper that my mother made and that I would have worn forever if puberty and breasts had not intervened.

Armoire Diversity Challenge from Analu

I am still working away at the Dress Me Up challenge but this is my attempt to see if I can walk and chew gum at the same time – or in other words, try to tackle a second challenge while still working on a first. So, dressing like a man?  Well, I was looking for Ztique for a completely unrelated reason and happened to spy one of the many ubiquitous Rfyre outlets on this sim where Ztique most decidely was not located. Bad Search!!!

I know Rfyre has some lovely clothes for men….so I made like a bee and buzzed over.

Dress Me Up As a Pirate? (Cajsa by Hannah)

Okay, so L&S designer Hannah Yakan is smart enough to see that the Dress Me Up Challenge is a great way for designers to get some blogging exposure and she sent me two outfits to choose from. Being the water lover I am, I had no difficulty in choosing the Anne Bonney pirate costume…which could be mixed and matched in individual pieces. I used my Bishwear Toss Me Around hair because it has that whole pirate wench thing going…and posed out on the posing rocks…thinking Anne Bonney could be taking a rest, supervising her crew while they dig for treasure.

Dress Me Up: Cajsa by Achariya

My directions from Achariya were quite generous in allowing me to choose what I wanted. She wrote:

For you, I think I’d want to see you in cute yet classic style from Japanese designers. How about a coat and pants and hair from DP**yumyum? (There are some pants on sale in the sale room, really cute capris). Boots from J’s, and other accessories from Swallowtail? ♥ Thank you for letting me play with you!

Too cute for words

Well, I suppose if I said something about this dress, then I could not say it’s too cute for words. So, instead of saying something about the dress, let me point out the adorably cute ring from flirt (a review item)  – called onyx bloom which has a super color change script so you can make it go with anything even this dress that is too cute for words.

Red Christmas

Looking for a perfect holiday gown – this Anastasia by Vogue might be right for you. I found it at the Vanity Universe Winter Fairy Tale event that’s raising funds for Care International – which was my mother’s favorite charity, making it easy for me to splurge a bit.  The brocade bodice reminds me of christmas wrapping paper. Certainly, if you wear this, you will be one of the best-wrapped avatars at the ball.

Winter Warmth

Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to wear all the lovely winter wools and layers and run around in the snow and ice and have your feet stay warm, dry and toasty? Wait,  it’s Second Life and I can. Whee! As someone who grew up in the Minnesota Northwoods – who remembers the joy of touching a frozen metal stair rail with my tongue at age five and recalls my hand sticking to the door handle of my dad’s car, I so love living in a warmer place that seldom sees a flake of snow. But I would have occasional bouts of nostalgia for the sparking beauty of winter snow, of hoarfrost on the trees and all the loveliness that winter brings. Second Life gives me a taste of that without the chapped lips and runny nose.  And so I can dress for these winter wonderlands in lovely wools such as this Zona Cero coat and this Boom sweater.

Simply Sn@tch

When I was getting dressed to go globe-hunting this weekend – before I got distracted and didn’t hunt a thing – I looked in my Sn@tch folders knowing I would find something sharp and snazzy.  Sn@tch is another one of those stores where you consistently get good quality clothing at a reasonable price and in fatpacks with lots of color and layer options. The shrug I am wearing is in multi-color fatpack suggestively titled Bit of Trim. I have to confess a deep and abiding love for the Sn@tch clothing names. Normally, I wish designers would just name a blue fur-trimmed mini-jacket something obvious and clear like Sn@tch Fur-Trimmed Knit Sweater Shrug instead of the meaningless names like Helen, Grace and Debra. I can’t remember those names and constantly have to rename folders to more meaningful names. The witty Sn@tch names with their double entendres, however, stick in my head and I can recall what they are.
