IT TOOK ME ONE YEAR!

posted by Gidge Uriza

I have stalked this bathing suit since it went into the lucky chair at Coconut Ice, for oh, Say A YEAR.  My husband came to SL and promptly won it right off the bat one day while shopping with me.

Here you see Silo – flaunting his new bikini a year ago, at a party with threw on Vicious Island.

So, I was a little bitter, I gotta admit. I mean, it wasn’t even TRANS! GRRRRR. Continue reading

Tartan Love

I love plaids and wandering around Japan on Saturday I found a lovely three-pack of tartan skirts including this version in Red.  It’s from DDJ and the entire pack includes three tartan bras and skirts in red, blue and green and two semi-sheer sweater options to wear with it.

Announcing a New Resource: SLURLS

Gidge and I have a SLURLS page instead of posting slurls in our individual posts. Many other bloggers also have SLurls pages that they do their best to keep up to date but they all fall behind as stores move, close, open or rebrand themselves. There’s no way anyone can keep track of the teeming world of SL Fashion….so why not try an experiment with a directory everyone who joins can edit and update. So…please  consider joining to help create a useful tool for the entire SL community.

Sunday Afternoon

posted by Gidge Uriza

Once you kick off those church shoes and make your Sunday plans, you want to be comfy. So what are you doing today? A cookout? Going to drink some beer and play trivia? Cruising the grid with your girls looking for something you can’t live without?

I pillaged my inventory trying to remember what BESIDES Sari’s I had picked up at the Yak & Yeti extravaganza (I haven’t been in a while – everything might still be free, I dunno). Continue reading

Valentina

So, I am sad that Linden Labs bought OnRez and will be closing it down. I don’t like the other site and probably won’t use it. However, the news did send me rushing to OnRez to shop and there I found this lovely jacket from Y.M.X.  Pink and grey go together so well and this lovely tweed is just adorable.  I wanted to wear something pink to show off this new skin – a limited edition offering from Bebae. It’s a Valentine’s Day makeup addition to the Bebae Belina line – and comes with a pink or a red lipstick.

Sunday Morning

posted by Gidge Uriza

I have been extreme remiss in visiting my friends the Kungles new Sim. I sent a present but between being sick and kids being sick and then being busy blah blah blah blah I never got over there. Which is lame of me, as they are some of my favorite designers in SL.

So when I went wandering around, taking in their lovely new mainstore, I was excited to take in all the news, and maybe the not-so news things I hadn’t noticed before. Continue reading

Joy, Bliss and General Goodwill

Whilst previewing a new gown from Phoenix Rising called Darken Bliss (shown below the cut) I just fell in love with the corset top and wanted to show it off with another style option. With a name like Bliss I decided it needed a little more goodwill and opted for the sleek, svelte and sexy pencil skirt from Mimikri called Joy. Bliss and Joy, I think we should all sing Kumbayah.

Candy and Cigarettes

posted by Gidge Uriza

It all started with a blogpost on Freestyle about a free snowboard! I was bored, had no one to hang out with and though, Hey – I’ll go get that snowboard. That’d be a hoot.

Except I couldn’t FIND it. I round RAY SKIN just fine, and I found a lot of cute freebie clothes (worn) but no snow board. Now, as will happen when there is a post from Freestyle, it was kind a crackalackin busy with freebie hunters and folks checking out a store new to them. So it was lagarrific and hard to get around. There probably WAS a snowboard and I couldn’t FIND It. Continue reading

A Fashion Blogger's Bedroom

posted by Gidge Uriza

You would imagine, that when one has a RL husband who spends hours and hours retexturing your new SL home, and he spent hours arranging and picking out furniture to make your home a place you can be proud to bring your pixel friends – that you’d be careful with your prims.

You’d mind them, make sure that you can always have plenty available, wouldn’t you?

Of course, if you did that – you wouldn’t be THIS Fashion Blogger. Continue reading

Trailblazer

Michelle Obama has excited the fashion world this past year and has often been compared to another first lady, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, because, like Jackie, she is a fashion trailblazer. With hypercritical attention of the press, most First Ladies opt for well-known established designers and safe colors and designs. Michelle Obama’s choices on Inauguration Day signaled in two ways that she is not going the safe route. First, she chose relatively unknown designers, not opting for the security of an old design house. Secondly, although the silhouettes were classic and certainly safe, the fabrics and colors were bold and adventurous. My choices for this outfit offer an homage to the brilliant color coordination and experimentation she offered for the historic event.
