Cool Nights in The Mountains
posted by Gidge Uriza
After posting a super fun dress I found at Weatherby’s while shopping with Belle, I got a big old bag of goodies dropped on me from them. HOW sweet! It included this dress, #5 that is just irresistable in it’s color splash joy.
It’s still cool enough at night to warrant a light sweater where I am, and I knew I picked up this bolero length sweater from AXEL for a reason. It’s a great compliment to some of the swirls in the dress. Continue reading
Casual Friday
Sometimes the weekend cannot come fast enough and we anticipate the weekend with Casual Fridays. That’s what is happening here combining one of the fab new men’s shirts from artilleri and a skirt from Milk Motion.
Quick Look: Miss Lily
It’s a busy morning – so here’s a quick look at a lovely little casual dress from Miss Lily. I am wearing the frequently blogged because it’s so damned good Breeze hairstyle from lamb! with it.
And now for something completely different
Feeling a bit fey last night, I decided to take the Cambridge Cuffed shirt from Armidi and see if I could give it a “quaintly unconventional” look. After all, what could be more conventional than a plain button-down shirt? A fun challenge, then, to give it an unconventional twist. Browsing my inventory, I tried a few skirts, but the instant I put on Nell from LBD, the search was over.
Having fun with tints
I picked up the marvelous Exile Shir hair – a fundraiser for Heart of Love – and love it’s classic looks and its flexibility. That clip holding the french twist in place is color change, but it’s also modifiable, so I could color it to be as matchy-matchy as I wanted. Now how fun is that? And if you get this marvelous hairstyle you will also be helping the Heart of Love campaign. It’s the epitome of win-win. Then you can wear it with the over the moon wonderful watercolor sweater and skirt from Uncle Wiggily.
Femme Vitale
This is such a lovely, spring-like dress and today is sunny and bright after weeks of rain and snow and ick, that I could not resist pulling it out. A lovely vintage gown from the duchess of vintage, Neferia Abel of Ivalde, this has a lovely satin floral print with sheer tulle on the bodice.
Dress Me Up: Cajsa by Achariya
My directions from Achariya were quite generous in allowing me to choose what I wanted. She wrote:
For you, I think I’d want to see you in cute yet classic style from Japanese designers. How about a coat and pants and hair from DP**yumyum? (There are some pants on sale in the sale room, really cute capris). Boots from J’s, and other accessories from Swallowtail? ♥ Thank you for letting me play with you!
Quick Look: Plum Tea
This will be quick as I am running late and don’t want to be late for work. The focal point of this outfit is the stockings from Bijou – ably set off by a dress from Tea Lane and shoes from Shiny Things.
Milkweed
Continuing my love affair with Paper Couture, I put on their magnificent Puntino dress. Like the rest of their collection of avarian inspired clothes, it is a feathery confection. However, I think the feather remind me of a beautiful delicate and enduring milkweed pod. Whether their natural inspiration came from birds or weeds, they spun it into this dream of a dress.
