Welcome to the Studio, Part Two

The first post showed you the lobby, the portfolio room and my office – all rather presentable work spaces – nothing like the messy and always busy work room. Not only are there four working photographers using the space, but we have frequent self-help photographers, mostly bloggers and content creators. We have even had photographers from other studios borrow the equipment for a night or two while working out some performance issue or another. To dress it up a bit, I decided to wear the other half of the Cachet outfit (the pants in Pt. 1) which consists of a a shiny silk top and skirt with delicate gold fans like seed pods. With the skirt you can see the marvelous Marie shoes from Tesla. Behind me, you can see the shelves of pose balls and pose props that are strewn across the east end of the studio, convenient to the photospheres. Continue reading

Welcome to the Studio…part one

Among all the wanderings around SL® that I have photographed, I realized I have not shot any photos for you of my photo studio – MDR Photo Studio.  In this photo taken in the studio lobby, I am wearing a mash-up of Cachet, Ce-Cubic Effect and you can also see a touch of Earth & Sky lingerie – purchased, I believe, at the Lingerie Expo.  Many folks drop by to look at our portfolios – but also to try out the different photo studios to see what they like or to pick up our list of great sites for photo shoots, so if you’re in the neighborhood, drop on by. Taking Lingerie Out of the Closet, Pt. IV

Until Second Life® gives us more clothing layers so we can wear our lingerie under our clothes, we women of SL are kept from experiencing one of RL’s great pleasures in SL – the knowledge that under the paint-spattered overalls, the cook’s apron, the doctor’s scrubs, the power suit our underwear is silky, soft and sexy.  Until then, I guess the best we can do to get a similar joie de lingerie is to drag it out of the closet and wear it so it shows, in this case by pairing a sexy bra with a sheer top.

The Secret Garden of Kaguya

Some days things just fall into place. While testing landmarks for the SLURL directory yesterday, I found this lovely secret garden – but was wearing that black fur jacket and red pants and thought it would not work well for shooting yesterday’s clothes. It was sort of in the back of my mind when I got dressed this morning, but jumped front and center when I tried on this lovely dress I bought at Cover Girl while SLURL hopping. When I also add the new jewelry I picked up at Miriel’s new sim, it’s an amazing confluence of design and color whose coincidence of timing strikes me as unlikely, yet here it is.

Where'd You Get That? Don't Ask…….

posted by Gidge Uriza

I received a big old box o’ hair from House of Heart the other day, and while strapped to my dressing stand trying it on, Miffy popped over to see what I was up to and to tell me she had some new releases.  When I got to Jordan (shown) she said “Here, model this with that one” and passed me the newest release at Don’t Ask..the fur trimmed pantsuit and shoes.

The coffee bean color hair was an easy choice to go with this outfit. This is one of my favorite designs of Miffy’s, it reminds me a mafia wife who bought couture. It’s fun and no pixel animals were harmed in the making of this fur. Continue reading

Directory Trekking – and it's done.

Bliensen and Maitai dropped this lovely necklace on me along with a few other jewelry sets the other day, but with RL driving over SL with a steam roller and my monomaniacal focus on getting through the SLURL Directory as quickly as possible, I have had no time to review anything. But, I do like the set (haven’t had a chance to look at the others yet). They fit well and aren’t too flashy a red (as cherries often are in jewelry.)  I had to dig around in my chest a bit to move the necklace up, but that always happens with my jewelry. Obviously I am too tall. Continue reading

Green is my favorite color

Green is my favorite color – always has been. Like brown and blue, it’s one of the ubiquitous colors of nature – those colors we humans see the most of. Blue skies, brown earth and green grass and trees – the colors of when the world is right and everything is in its place. Green is the color of plenty – of coming harvests, of ample rainfall – in essence, the color of survival. With all of nature bending toward loving green, how can I argue? Continue reading

I Have Gone Positively Dotty!!!

Conference participants tend to take one of two distinct fashion paths when attending a conference – the hyper-casual or the dressed to kick ass and take names approach. Last night seemed the time for the latter, so I chose a vintage style dress and added a bolero because it was a bit chilly. I truly accentuated the positive in this outfit with the hat, though. Wallflower

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. The same old story.  But when I got this lovely gift from Pixeldolls I WANTED to be swept away for a romantic night of dancing under the starts. I own enough jewerly from RICX to attend the opera every day for a month and never wear the same piece more than twice….I don’t see too m any people blogging RICX, but I like their stuff. And yes their jewelry has a bling OFF option so no you don’t HAVE to be a blingtard to shop there.  They offer a lot of jewels and traditional settings. Continue reading
