Treasure Hunting #5

The Treasure Hunt at Baiastice is still going on – I just signed on for a moment to check, so I thought i would do one more post featuring another extraordinary treasure find as well as another luscious pair of shoes from the Shoe Expo yesterday. After the treasure hunt, the shoe expo and the lingerie and beachwear expo all on the same weekend, my inventory is in a sad state. When I signed off last night, my inventory was leaning over the bar at Flashman’s sobbing into a whisky, a sad, broken thing, despairing of ever becoming the lean and lithe inventory it once was and threatening lag reprisals if it didn’t get some respect.

However, this blog is not about the dysfunctional relationship I have with my inventory, but the lovely clothing I can drag out of it. Certainly, Treasure Hunt item #5, the lil Grey Dress from Baiastice is one of the loveliest of the treasure hunt finds. A floaty gauzy multi-tiered skirt prim gives it such swaying movement and an airy gentleness that it’s delightfully feminine. The bodice detail is amazing, with delicate black Chantilly lace along the neckline and inset between the bodice and the skirt. You can see more photos on my Flickr.

Treasure Hunting 4

In an effort to combine posts, I thought I would start with this shoe-centric photo featuring a lovely pair of shoes I found at the Shoe Expo today.  I thought these shoes from Decoyhad that lovely summery feeling that suited the dress that is Baiastice Treasure Hunt #8, the Pop Dress. The shoes are fabulous wedges with a bright turquoise upper with beautiful fine beige edging. The open to and graceful slingback add to a casual, summer sensibility.

Treasure Hunting #3

I am wearing two treasure hunt finds now, the skin comes in pouch #15 and there are three skins in the set, with pink, purple and a multi-color (gold/green) makeup. I thought the pink for flattering for this dress, but was really intrigued by the makeup on the colors version. The dress is the gift in pouch #1 – a creamy moire satin with delicious jeweled details on the bodice and straps. I turned full bright off on the skirt prim to photograph it and will leave it off for wearing as I prefer my clothes to not be full bright, most of the time.

Treasure Hunting #2

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook

There are treasure hunts and then there are treasure hunts with real treasure like this one at Baiastice. In this photo, I am wearing hunt item #18 – the Delicacy top from Baiastice. The treasure pouch also gives you another in blue that is just as yummy. I tried it with a few skirts and jeans and it looked great with the Adam n Eve leather pants I wore the other day, but I decided that I really liked how it suited the MG Fashions Maria skirt’s dropped waist.  Additionally, the color match was perfect.

Treasure Hunting

Now, is there a more drop everything event than a treasure hunt at Baiastice? Maybe, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head. Baiastice opened on a new sim yesterday and is celebrating by hosting a 20 item treasure hunt. You need to look for lovley gold pouches that are teeny, tiny wee little bags. It’s not easy, but then it’s still worth it because the freebies inside are delectable Baiastice items. The first of my finds was a formal gown, Old America, that Gidge would have loved for her Patriotica series. I snagged just the top for this outfit, though, going for a casual look. The skirt is another treasure hunt prize – a pouch with this skirt in three lovely colors. I added my Ce Ce Cubic blue jacket to finish the look. Continue reading

There is a rose

Women love drop-dead sexy dresses, short dresses, long dresses, all kinds of dresses, but the dresses that make us go “oooh” and do cartwheels in our minds are the truly romantic, soft and innocent dresses like this cream dress from Hal*Hina. This is the sort of dress our dolls wore, a barely there cream, soft pink roses, a wispy layer of organza, ribbons in our hair. We put these kinds of dresses on and hear harp music played by cherubs in clouds.

Hal*Hina is definitely a find. A store with lovely feminine dresses, many for only L50. There’s also a luscious green dress available free to group members. Continue reading

Still loving those shoes…

Okay, so I got more than one pair of those H&U ribbon sandals. Honestly, how often do you find such graceful and useful multi-color shoes?  These are the mixed color sands and have some blue, green, yellow and purple. Yummy.  I decided to wear a freebie today, the May freebie from Baiastice.  I know we only get 25 groups, but do make room for Baiastice – that lovely monthly group gift is well worth the space.

Saints and Butterflies

Nyla Cheeky had her semi-annual 50% sale that convinced me that now is the time to get this dress I have been eying for months. Called Sainte Marie, it is rich confection of detailed black embroidery on vibrant blue. Nyla’s a real life designer who often brings her creations in-world so we can enjoy her creativity. Many of her dresses make me smile and even laugh out loud with their bright cheery colors and droll with. Relatively restrained for a House of Nyla dress, the Sainte Marie still has that special touch – in the detailed embroidery, the naughty black netting ruffle peeping out below the skirt and the custom shoes to coordinate, for example.  This is a dress for afternoon parties that can take you into an evening event – and the bright blue does wonders for most people’s eyes.

A really good shoo!

I have several different options to show you with this outfit, but first let me talk about the shoes. From H&U, these lovely ribbon sandals come in several color combinations that perfectly complement so many outfits. I have other sandals, but these are amazingly well-made. For the mix-and-matcher, the wonderfully flexible color combinations in the sandals are a strong complement to many outfits. To be frank, the shoes were the starting point for the outfit.

I started the outfit off with the Novocaine Frayed Top in green and brown (the jungle option) and matched that with leather pants from Adam n Eve. Feeling a bit frisky, I decided to wear the mischievous Lio hair style from 0 Style.  A photo without the jacket is at the end of the post. Continue reading

Peacock Panache

One of my favorite literary puns is from the death scene of Cyrano de Bergerac when he says “I still have my white feather.” The first time I read it, I thought that was strange, but reading it again a few years later in a different translation, it read “I still have my panache,” with a lovely footnote explaining that panache meant both that ineffable sense of wit and style but also meant feather. Oh what we lose in translation!

So Panache is, I think the perfect word to describe this newest couture gown named Paris from AvaGardner Kungler. A special Kungler Couture release, it’s is made of both peacock feathers and sumptuous style and droll wit. Peacock Panache! Continue reading
