How's About a Free Dress?

posted by Gidge Uriza

Cajsa has been singing the praises of Little Rebel anytime we have to go somewhere that low ARC is appropriate, and sometimes just because she wants to. I was one of those people plagued by the SYSTEM SKIRT conundrum (they didn’t work if you don’t know – for some of us) so I never really saw the POINT of bothering with shopping at Little Rebel.

It almost seemed cruel to taunt myself with clothes I couldn’t actually WEAR OUT.

Foggy Bottom

I suppose since this was not shot at the State Department, Foggy Bottom is a bad name, but it’s what comes to mind. This is actually shot right behind MDR’s studio on our new sim in the Autumn section. In Autumn you can find corn and wheat fields, a wooded forest of fall color or this spooky, scary little bit of mossy, foggy bottomland which I thought a perfect setting for a dress called the Burton dress. From True La La, the Burton dress is suitably macabre for the setting.

Autumn Sundress – Oxymoron?

posted by Gidge Uriza

It’s one last post before I go under the knife tomorrow. That’s right……Gidge is having surgery. I’ve been so sick for several weeks and finally they’ve decided that it’s surgery for me.Ā  Since I’m not one those people who divides their SL and their RL much – I’m Gidge in both worlds…..I thought I’d tell all my favorite fashionistas what has been going on. If you want to catch up with RL Gidge……you can get the scooby-doo here.

Since I’m kinda bummed out, I wanted to post something fun, something that truly made me smile when I saw it and this dress definitely qualifies.

I had never once shopped at Gigi Couture so I have no clue why I got a notice – unless I FORGOT I shopped there and joined their subscribo – I’m a subscribo junkie and join everyone’s šŸ™‚ . Continue reading

Tartan

So, today I amĀ  planning to get all sorts of inventory cleaning done – the inventory cleaning I said I would do this weekend, but….I didn’t. How does that happen that I have these lists of things to do and then the day goes by and I cannot even tell you what I did, but it wasn’t much.Ā  Oh, well, I looked good doing not much wearing this tartan from Muism. I love that the buckles are prims you attach because it looks just so much better than being drawn on.

I <3 Zaara

I love scarves, love them with a passion. My closet is full of scarves from Russian wedding ring scarves to color Indian scarves, from vibrant Pucci silks to glorious handpainted Japanese scarves and everything in between. In fact, I love scarves so much I invented a way to store them so they are easily accessible and don’t get a scrunchy and wrinkled. I hung two curtain rods in my closet, one six inches above the other, and put about 100 round shower curtain rings on each one. I hang my scarves by looping them through the rings so they are all visible, neat and easy to select when I dress in the morning. So, when Zaara released her wonderful Pashmina scarves I was in heaven. Continue reading

Wallflower………NEVER

Sometimes I buy impractical things that I do not need for any reason.

Such as dresses composed entirely of sequins. I gotta confess when I saw this dress at Dolly Rock I truly had to run over and pick it up. It’s just such an OUT THERE dress…….cut down to THERE…..tight all around THERE…….with fun photosourced sequin texturing all over. Continue reading

Brownie a la Mode

posted by Gidge Uriza

There are lots of way to kick up the elegance of dreary old brown and this dress from <3 Cupcakes is a great example of what shades of brown can bring to the table with regards to elegance. Muted browns and beiges make the Fiona dress almost easy to not notice, it’s so subtle.

Throw on a set up heels, some pearls and sweep up your hair and you’ve got an elegant evening in the bag.

And good grief, did I forget to do my nails? Lord what’s next? Forgive me Fashionistas…….I’m only human too!

What Is The Victory of a Cat On a Hot Tin Roof?

Just Stayin On It - As Long As She Can

Cajsa came up with the theme for this hottie look when I was wanting to shoot some lingerie…the location inspired it I’m sure…..as this place seems about ready for the family to descend to wait for Big Daddy to die.

Wearing Simone!’s Hot Tin Roof Slip dress I escaped the family drama to cool off down by the river. After all, if I’m Maggie…..I’ve clearly got crazy family to escape. Continue reading

In the morning light…

AM Radio made some major changes at Tusk. It’s now underwater, but still beautiful and evocative. Here I am inside the little building on the pier looking out at the water and enjoying the warm sun streaming in the window. It looks likeĀ  it will be a lovely day. I hope so because I forgot to bring a jacket.

RRRRRABBIT!

posted by Gidge Uriza

It seems wildly unfair to me that Cajsa came exploring this forest with a frenchman to lead the way and I just had to follow her around. But, despite the lack of handsome strangers, I was delighted for her to show me around this wonderful, almost childlike forest. We shot the Fairy photos from the previous post there and she HAD to drag me down the Rabbit-hole for a tea party extraordinaire. Continue reading
