A night out on the town always means something new. I can’t wear something you have already seen! Which means very little recycling in my wardrobe. However there are things I love and trot out – abandoning the very tenant that I pretend is a covenant of my SLifestyle.

Basically, I’m fickle.

One thing I’ve always loved, though, was my Edgy Wilds hair that I bought from Aleri Darkes back when God was a boy. I was sad to discover, when I started doing this blog, that this hair was nowhere to be found anymore. I whined and whined and Aleri made some comment a while back about retexturing it but really…..why on earth would she ever bring it back just because one whiny fashionista moaned about it?

Speaking at the Blogher conference in SL, at the “Intersection of Blogging and Second Life” breakout session, was exactly the excuse I needed to go shopping someplace I didn’t NEED to go shopping at. Throwing a house party last weekend (before my Red White and Blue madness week!) I was perplexed at which thing in my closet to wear. We were just having some friends over to Wang Manor for some dancing and fun, nothing fancy and no THEME and as I rifled through my dresses I remembed I had picked this up at Diversity the day it came out but hadn’t worn it yet!

I knew immediately I wanted to match up purples and gold – and these pansy earrings from Petal Meg were exactly what I was looking for. Pressed from real flowers, all of her jewelry is an elegant little piece of nature, and so unique.

I slipped into Elemiah designs after seeing a cute babydoll dress on Freestyle and I wanted to see more. It’s possible that I have an unnatural affinity for the modern, feminine lines drawn by Halston back in the day – I had a bachelor uncle who was a huge fan – but I immediately saw a comparison in Elemiah’s designs with the late great designer.

Far from being just an SL version of his designs, what I find at her shop is a modern sensibility to the style that Halston pioneered. Delicate but modern, clean lines with a feminine flair. Even her frillier femme pieces are still flavored with a hint of modern line. Continue reading →

After a few days in Paper Couture, I felt like something a bit more casual. Pairing a blouse with a black skirt is as simple as it comes, but then, it felt blah…so to wake it up I dug out the Elpheba shoes from Digit Darkes. Shoes like that could free a straightjacket and wake up a corpse shroud. More photos on my Flickr
