Happily Imprudent

So I tried out the new  Imprudence viewer tonight and have these photos to show for it – a mashup of Nyte and Day and Digit Darkes. I have to say it was a pleasant experience over all and I am looking forward to being able to change permissions on an entire box of textures at once. However, it has no sound which it should blare in neon so folks don’t spend and hour or more trying to figure out why their sound is not working as I did.

Grace in a Skin Flick

I received two sets from Skin Flicks to review, the first being that cocktail dress I showed you a few days ago, and then THIS lovely piece – completely on the other end of the spectrum – fashion wise.

Or is it? Continue reading

What's in a name

To be frank, the store Tree and Ocean of Second Life or TOSL is not the most happily named store in Second Life. The first I can never remember correctly and generally conflate into Tree of Second Life which means I cannot find it in search. The acronym always makes me think of those dread Terms of Service agreements.  Luckily loving the store’s name is not a requirement for shopping there because there’s no doubt I love everything else about TOSL from the delightfully quirky store construction to the imaginative and colorful clothing and accessories including the shoes and top in this outfit.

Ski Trip!

posted by Gidge Uriza

Now you may be saying to yourself…..”Ummm, Gidge, you can’t ski in that…..”

And I know this, but this super cute sweater from Izumiya put me in mind of ski trips from my past. Trips with friends, where you’d buy the coolest sweaters you could find for those evenings in the lodge, sipping mulled wine and talking about the powder.

And then here’s my confession. Continue reading

Armada!

posted by Gidge Uriza

I love to cruise Indyra Originals every now and again just to see what’s new because you never know what you’re going to find (I mean this in a good way). I fell in love instantly with Armada – remembering that I had seen it before and crashed right before I bought it.  It had slipped from my mind until I strolled back through there last week…… Continue reading

Going for the Gold

This is one of those dresses that really fool you. You see it in the vendor and think, cute, I like it.  If you are a fashion addict like me, you might buy it and that’s when the fun begins, because you see, this is one of those dresses that needs to be taken out of the box, shaken, stirred and walked about  in.  in a static photo, it’s cute. On a moving avatar, it’s stunning. It’s very kinetic – alive with movement and sparkle. I really recommend Raeva’s have store models when the difference between the photos and the reality is this startling.

Shai Silver

Is there anyone comparable to Shai Delacroix in shading textures for form-fitting, curve-hugging, body-kissing sex appeal? Maht calls one of her dresses the Ass Dress and certainly my bum looks better in that dress than any other. This one has a pleated skirt which precludes the kind of cupping closeness that the Ass Dress employs, but then look how this one hugs the torso, curving and swerving with your curves and swerves snugging as tight as silk can snug.

It's Magic

Do you ever wander around and suddenly see something that striked you as pure magic. That’s how I felt when I saw this dress from Lo-D Designs. Inspired by the rich froth of foam in the surf, the dress is bordered with a lace of sea foam. A lesser artist would have gone too realistic here and made the dress blue and made the sea foam purely foam, but she seems to have overlaid lace and foam textures to create something new and visually exciting. Now I really have to thank Thalia Jie who gave me the landmark for this store and told me I would like it. She sure was right.
