Sometimes, I Just Find Stuff on the Floor

posted by Gidge Uriza

Wandering the grid, I’m prone to finding leftover hunt items sitting about. This is especially true around holidays, and I know how it can be. I once left Easter Eggs sitting out around Vicious Island for over a month – because I forgot where I hid them + Cajsa and I were really busy hosting two HUGE themed events per week.

I am usually terribly delighted when I find these things though, as my schedule rarely permits me to participate in “hunts” on a regular basis. Continue reading

Winter Garden: Gypsophilia & Ginkgo

So I am going to go overboard and drive you mad with Modern Gypsy posts, I am that excited. This post will look at two of Micah Kanto’s designs for Modern Gypsy, Babybreath and Genko. You mission, should you choose to accept it, is to determine which is which.

Falling in love with Modern Gypsy

A friend asked me to TP to Stiletto Moody to see if I could. While standing near the TP point, explaining that it was open only to group members because of the 40% off sale I spotted an elegantly styled and lovely woman. Her name is Staci Bernard and after I admired her lovely outfit, she was kind enough to give me the landmark and introduce me to Modern Gypsy where I found the gorgeous jacket she wore as well as this coat and oh-so much more.

Dress Me Up Challenge – Gidge by Luna Jubilee

posted by Gidge Uriza

Dressing like a grunge girl now poses the same problems for me that it did when I was a girl deeply enmeshed in the self-same music and culture. How to be a girly girl, in a scene that does not embrace the pink and frilly?

The answer of course, is carefully, very carefully. Continue reading

Christmas Quickie #6

Just in time for the holidays and New Year’s, Zaara has released her most beautifully alluring gown yet. Releasing it in red, gold and black, she gives you choices for  the coming New Year’s parties, including black for a black and white ball. However, only the colors give it a seasonal appeal, so you can wear it all year round. She also put this glorious jewelry out as a gift in the anteroom of her store.

Hobo Christmas

I was very unhappy at being snowed in and unable to spend Christmas with friends as planned. So, when I saw this Christmas tree at Forgotten Village, I  wanted to photograph it.  It sort of expressed what my holiday felt like.  In order to better express my mood, I thought I would outfit myself with some grunge wear.

Christmas Quickie #5

As Christmas draws to a close and we head toward New Year’s, there will be a lot of holiday parties looking toward the coming year. Perhaps a traditional Black & White ball on New Year’s Eve?   If so, this is a lovely dress for that, simple and seasonal, with understated elegance. It’s from Pretty Magic and is wisely sold separately from the witch hat and cape that goes with it.

Don't Tell Mama

Aemilia Case lifted me out of my pity party at being snowed in and unable to spend Christmas with friends as planned by asking for volunteers for a photo shoot. Considering I had been actually contemplating watching an NCIS marathon, I jumped at the chance to be on the other side of the camera. For the shoot I was given this Mein Herr outfit by Shai Delacroix of Casa del Shai that she is releasing today.

Yes, Sally Bowles!!! and to make it even more fun, all of us were posing on the cabaret chairs made by Luth Brodie of Reel Expression. She will be releasing two 12-pose chairs and 12 standing poses so all of us can release our inner Sally and strut the stage and was kind enough to gift all of us posers with a set.
