Cross My Heart

posted by Gidge Uriza

Jewelry with religious tones is always fascinating to me, be it an Ankh or a Cross or something from the east (okay technically the ankh is from EAST of me but I’m thinking EAST of that). I like especially like wearing Celtic Crosses (that’s the Irish in me) and this stylized Celtic set from Earthstones is a great modern take on an intricate traditional style. Featuring earrings and a necklace in a variety of tones this casual set makes a very subtle stylish addition to this casual outfit. Continue reading

Fall's Fancy

posted by Gidge Uriza

Laynie Link had a tremendous sale a few weeks ago, where she got rid of a lot of her older fashions to make room for new pieces.  I took advantage and had to expand all of my closets because of it, I tell you. This beautiful fall colored set – Hibiscus Dreams – is separates so you can pick up the skirt or shirt or both. Where can you get them? Both are still available on ONREZ lucky girls.

The skirt has a texture like crushed silk, it’s lovely and has a beautiful swaying action when you walk…..very delicate and lady like. Continue reading

We've Got System Skirts - And We're Not Afraid to Use Them

In the middle of a shoot the other night Cajsa and I both got the group notice that there was about to be a fashion show – in approximately 30 minutes. We decided we would finish up the shoot and then slip into something LOW ARC yet fashionably acceptable, and roll over to see the show. It was designer we both adore so we were really looking forward to it.

28 minutes and 147 hairstyles reviewed by Cajsa later we were dressed and ready to go. So we pop over to the show.

Lucky Chair Parties – The Grid's Hen Party

Ah Zaaaaaaaaaaara

Ah Zaaaaaaaaaaara

posted by Gidge Uriza

It used to be that lucky chairs were full of junk no one wanted, but still – you were kinda tickled if you won.  Then slowly, good designers have added them. And now even, it’s become a truly fashionable trend to create the lucky chair only items.

Our desire to obtain what cannot be BOUGHT therefore creates spontaneous Lucky Chair Parties. Such as at Zaara one night.  Cajsa and I were shopping and decided to stop in to see what was up with the lucky chair – there was a beautiful new dress in the chair (pictured obviously). Continue reading

When Alice07 Barzane announced that the Peppermint Blue 1 Year Anniversary Party was going to be a Western Theme……I knew where I was going to turn. While I LOVE the fun of just hunting up stuff via search (I actually do) – looking up stores I might not have heard of etc to see what they have, I’d been looking for a reason to pick up WASTELAND COWGIRL from Bare Rose for quite a while.

I don’t normally look for a reason to pick up clothes, but this kind of falls into the “Costume” milieu of my closet and I don’t generally just collect costumes without cause. Yet, from the instant I saw this one on Phil’s place posted by Tori….I knew I wanted it. Pink Leather Chaps?!?! PLEASE! Continue reading

Reflections of The Love You Took From Me

Reflections of The Love You Took From Me

Through the mirror of my mind
Time After Time
I see reflections of you and me………

Happiness you took from me
And left me alone

With only memories

This new Reflections Dress from Digit Darkes is so elegant yet so overpoweringly sentimental, I immediately started singing the old Supremes song when I put it on. This is a dress for a night of elegance and romance.  I am wearing “Festival” and the name belies the depth of the dress.  It’s bold feathery skirt and elegant feminine bodice are a visual contrast that is even more emphasized by the drop waist. Working At The Carwash!

Posted by Gidge Uriza

I’d had a full day of shopping and hard work looking for fashion goodies(I had been searching for shoes, I need fall shoes darnit), when Cajsa drug me off to wash her car! Geeez!

Ok, kidding – but she thought I looked like a tough girl in this outfit and thought the Car Wash was the perfect place to shoot it.  I got this super fun tough girly outfit from Indi and I picked it up on a hunt that Freestyle covered. I only own three things by Indi, all of which I got on the hunt and I feel a little guilty about that, because I just love all three items.

The delish thing about this outfit, is that it came with oodles of layers – including this hot lingerie layer……

I want to mod my hair

When I saw the new Seduction dress from Mimikri I began to drool. After mopping up, I popped over to the store and picked up the sexy Seduction in Nude.   I added a bit of contrast with tan gloves from Fleur and a stole from Skin Flicks. With the coffee lipstick on the PXL skin, I thought the palette was just about perfect.

Five Reasons to Love Fresh Baked Goods

posted by Gidge Uriza

  1. Fresh Baked Goods Jewelry all comes loaded with color change scripts, so for L$100 you get myriad options!
  2. The names are just fun and sassy. I love designers who come up with fun names for their items. It catches my attention – and makes me remember them.
  3. Variety – with a small selection they still manage to capture a range of jewelry needs from cheeky retro, rocker to elegant.
  4. Beautiful, quality freebies. I get turned on by designers who love their customers, and prospective customers, enough to put out something nice.
  5. Price. I realize I already mentioned it, but when you consider that we don’t blink at spending L$300 or more on some pieces, knowing that Fresh Baked Goods has their items set at about L$100…..really, what a steal.

And no, this is not a paid endorsement. I just really love their jewelry! Continue reading

Not Your Daddy's Rolling Stones

Let me make one thing perfectly clear, I am not hating on the Rolling Stones. They rock my world.  It’s just a reference to the stones in the necklace and the shoes, plain, highly polished river rock by the look of it. I started this outfit off backwards, starting with the sash from Paper Couture’s Gypsy Moon outfit. However, when a sash is that lovely, sometimes it has to be the inspiration.
