This is such a lovely, spring-like dress and today is sunny and bright after weeks of rain and snow and ick, that I could not resist pulling it out. A lovely vintage gown from the duchess of vintage, Neferia Abel of Ivalde, this has a lovely satin floral print with sheer tulle on the bodice.
Conference participants tend to take one of two distinct fashion paths when attending a conference – the hyper-casual or the dressed to kick ass and take names approach. Last night seemed the time for the latter, so I chose a vintage style dress and added a bolero because it was a bit chilly. I truly accentuated the positive in this outfit with the hat, though. It was easy enough to decide which designer to wear to the farewell show of Shantu Selene. A classic crooner definitely warrants something vintage – and in my closet that almost always means Ivalde. The show was an early show, 6ish so I decided the white version of Ivalde’s Leah dress was a great choice (this is a dollarbie, btw, on the second floor of Ivalde).

It was a hot night in Havana last night so I threw on this cool silk number in an bright electric blue and added a pair open toe sandals. There’s nothing like tight little skirt skimming your hips to show off your rumba. The dress, Lovinda, by premier vintage revivalist Ivalde, is a perfect figure-hugging dream. Unfortunately, the skirt is not modifiable, so for those of us with the intermittent skirt glitch, it’s not always wearable. Still, it’s worth doing Edit Appearance 6-7 times, when such a great dress will finally rez.

Nothing makes me feel more feminine that some vintage clothing and no one makes better vintage than Ivalde. The clothes are lovely and if you join her group, you will realize what a sweet person she is, too, with her weekly notes and updates.
I want, however, to focus on the jewelry for a moment because this is a jeweler whose fabulous offerings may be missed simply because the majority of her work won’t appeal to non-role-playing residents. Her store is on a Viking sim and the majority of her work is slave jewelry, but if you go from your landing point to the farthest right corner of the store, you will find some amazing contemporary designs such as this necklace. Yes, it’s only a small fraction of her stock, but it’s well worth bookmarking her and hoping she makes some more everyday jewelry in the future.
