Directory Trekking – and it's done.

Bliensen and Maitai dropped this lovely necklace on me along with a few other jewelry sets the other day, but with RL driving over SL with a steam roller and my monomaniacal focus on getting through the SLURL Directory as quickly as possible, I have had no time to review anything. But, I do like the set (haven’t had a chance to look at the others yet). They fit well and aren’t too flashy a red (as cherries often are in jewelry.)  I had to dig around in my chest a bit to move the necklace up, but that always happens with my jewelry. Obviously I am too tall. Continue reading

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. The same old story.  But when I got this lovely gift from Pixeldolls I WANTED to be swept away for a romantic night of dancing under the starts. I own enough jewerly from RICX to attend the opera every day for a month and never wear the same piece more than twice….I don’t see too m any people blogging RICX, but I like their stuff. And yes their jewelry has a bling OFF option so no you don’t HAVE to be a blingtard to shop there.  They offer a lot of jewels and traditional settings. Continue reading

Raid His Closet

When I saw the Tateshina mens set posted by Tori Heart a few weeks ago, my first though was, “That would look totally cute on me.” For reasons I never quite understand, a lot of the Bare Rose male models LOOK like girls (one has boobs I swear) so I often eye the menswear with the same desire as the women’s releases.

One of my very favorite features of the releases at Bare Rose is that June frequently offers multiple colors of the same item, for a very reasonable price. This one comes with two sets of pants and 4 shirt colors. Continue reading

Ding Ding! Hello….I Lost my Key!

posted by Gidge Uriza

A night out on the town always means something new. I can’t wear something you have already seen! Which means very little recycling in my wardrobe. However there are things I love and trot out – abandoning the very tenant that I pretend is a covenant of my SLifestyle.

Basically, I’m fickle.

One thing I’ve always loved, though, was my Edgy Wilds hair that I bought from Aleri Darkes back when God was a boy. I was sad to discover, when I started doing this blog, that this hair was nowhere to be found anymore. I whined and whined and Aleri made some comment a while back about retexturing it but really…..why on earth would she ever bring it back just because one whiny fashionista moaned about it?

BECAUSE SHE LOVES ME THAT’S WHY!!! How do I know this? Continue reading

Vacancy! Sweet!

I’ve been a bit slaggy and worn out since the Blogher Conference (being logged into SL because you have to is soooo different that because you want to) and decided I needed some time to just rest. Cajsa suggested a quiet country motel with lots of fresh air and good, “salt of the earth” people.

I think I’ve found JUST the place. Waddya think? 🙂 Continue reading

You Americans, You're All the Same. Always Overdressing for the Wrong Occasions

posted by Gidge Uriza

I always blame my overdressing on my old friend Jenn Lemmon. She was a courtesan at the Moulin Rouge and she was a notorious OVER dresser. I told her once how much I envied her fantastic gowns, and that I wasn’t going to an event at Moulin Rouge one night because I just didn’t have the clothes for it…….and she laughed.

“Oh Gidge, don’t base your wardrobe on me. I ALWAYS overdress for everything.”

“Always Overdress for Everything” became my mantra the night she gave me L$1500 as a gift to go to Indyra to buy a wild pink gown complete with top hat. I fell in love with fun/nice clothes and HERE WE ARE. Continue reading

Through a Glass Darkes-ly

posted by Gidge Uriza

It’s only a LITTLE bit blasphemous. Lighten up.

The Serina evening gown by Digit Darkes is a celebration of classic formal style without apologies. If Jane Austen and Margaret Mitchell got together, wrote a book and spent an endless amount of time describing the heroine’s gown the night she met Lord Poorbuthandsomewick – THIS is the gown they would describe. Sweetie Freebies and 2 Mysteries

posted by Gidge Uriza

It all started with the shirt. I was surfing around onrez looking for something – I dunno what – just SOMETHING when I used the sort filter and looked at the freebies.  This cute little tank just jumped out at me and I knew it’d rock with my candy belt that Miffy made.

Rock Me 2Nite

posted by Gidge Uriza

Maht celebrated his RL Bday a few days ago by holding a small listening party for his friends, where we gathered and enjoyed his music.  It was a great opportunity to break out this piece from Kungler’s, which has retro-store chic written all over it.  My grandma’s pearls with a big flowery broach added to an elegant shrug jacket top off the form fitting pinstripe pants – to me this outfit brings a modern cut to a 50s pansuit.  As though I were wealthy, walked into Chanel and said.”I saw this pantsuit in Time Magazine from 1952 – can you spin me out a modern version?” Continue reading
