Mondrian

Ever since Yves St. Laurent ripped Mondrian’s paint off the canvass and shaped his art onto a woman’s body, colorblock dresses have been a perenniel staple of fashionistas around the world. In this iteration, Dani’s Fashions adds a perfectly matched yellow jacket with lines that align perfectly with the dress. It’s really quite stunning and was a joy to accessorize.

Quick Look: Kali

I admit I have favorite designers – and Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice is one of them. She brings such whimsy and joy to her work that her clothes often make me smile. She’s generous with her group, providing monthly gifts that can bowl you over. She creates new silhouettes and has new ideas  – and most of them work well. Then she turns around and makes some delightful bit of fun like this Kali jacket that all you can really say is that she is unpredictable.

Back to Work Ladies!

posted by Gidge Uriza

It’s Monday Morning ladies and that means Gidge is back to work. So I thought I’d show you something lovely and fun that I was sent from Dani’s Fine Fashions.

This is the Retro Plaid outfit and is a complete outfit except for shoes (which is ok cuz unless you are Digit Darkes I have yet to find anyone who gives out REALLY GOOD SHOES with their complete outfits). Continue reading

Digitally Enhanced

Slap me before I pun again. Many of you have seen several of Digit Darkes new sex-on-wheels outfits this past week so I thought I would show you one and focus mainly on the hairstyle I am wearing with it. I organize my hair into two main folders, one for Red Hair and one for everything else. The Red Hair Folder is the big one and inside it I have the expected sub-folders for short, medium etc. One folder, though, I have labelled photo hair and in it I keep those photo-loving hairstyles that are not quite made for walking around, but that look wonderful in a photo. The new Esme hairstyle from Exile is going in that folder.

1 + 1 = 3

So while wandering the shops at Ivy Falls I came upon a shop with a mixed bag of clothes from different stores. Above the door, almost invisible to the casual shopper I saw this ballgown that seemed sort of anachronistic. The sleeves and skirt and all seemed like a historical gown, but the shirt fabric with the elephants was clearly modern.  It occurred to me that bringing it into the future with a mini skirt would be kind of fun and be a great example of how mixing and matching can make 1 plus 1 equal 3.

Having fun with tints

I picked up the marvelous Exile Shir hair – a fundraiser for Heart of Love – and love it’s classic looks and its flexibility. That clip holding the french twist in place is color change, but it’s also modifiable, so I could color it to be as matchy-matchy as I wanted. Now how fun is that?  And if you get this marvelous hairstyle you will also be helping the Heart of Love campaign.  It’s the epitome of win-win. Then you can wear it with the over the moon wonderful watercolor sweater and skirt from Uncle Wiggily.

Dancing in Real Life

posted by Gidge Uriza

By the time you are reading this, I will be swirling around the dance floor in the arms of my beloved Silo – this time NOT in his robot gear. It’s hard to believe, for many who know him, that Silo Uriza is not a little robot all the time but I promise you, he turns into a person when it suits him.

Since Real Life Gidge will be wearing a gown, I thought that SL Gidge should have on a gown as well. This lovely piece, called Tuti Fruiti, from SD was something fun and new to show you, while I continue to point out that I am out on a date with my husband in Real Life. Continue reading

Looking for Gold

The other day I was shopping at Adam N Eve, looking to see if their made their wonderful high-waisted leather skirt in gold as well as silver. They don’t, I want. I wanted to wear it with this top – a blouse I love with reservations. It’s a gorgeous design, I love the intricate black on black embroidery and would wear it more often if it were not sold on only the jacket layer. I would like to tuck it in sometimes.  I would like to wear it under a jacket sometimes. It’s a constant refrain from those of us who write about fashion, give us more layers. Continue reading

How can you mend a broken heart?

This top, skirt, belt and bangles are all from Ornamental Life. Shir Dryke of Ornamental Life needs help right now. A donor heart is being kept for her - in an act of amazing grace a family is keeping a man alive to give her a heart - if only we can all do our part, too, she could have a new chance at life.

I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do.
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow.

Defying Gravity

I am wearing a gravity-defying gown designed by Callie Cline. I love the  luxurious fabric and the rich cinnamon color, but I will be the first to admit that it’s a miracle it stays up. Particularly while I am wearing the Chai Double Shot skin, you get one guess as to whether I am wearing the Cleavage or not.
