So, is With Love & Squalor a great name for a pose store or what? It’s says melodrama that should be serialized on afternoon TV – and you know that any soap star worthy of the name has a repertoire of dramatic poses. And soap stars worthy of daytime Emmys have natural looking dramatic poses – and Love & Squalor is Daytime Emmy material. I had never heard of the store before the Pose Fair – which highlights the value of these fairs for shoppers and creators – bringing in new customers and introducing new stores and raising funds for charity on top of that. That’s a win-win-win situation.

Juxtapose(d)

One of the wonderful trends in pose-making is the expansive development of photoboxes – photo sets in a box complete with poses and props. Pose Fair introduced me to a new pose store called Juxtapose (such  a clever name) that made this great urban graffiti photobox. For this set, I decided to wear the Easter special from Mimikri – the ultra-modern Tussi dress in red.

Imperially Elegantly Peachy

I love this new blouse from Kunglers. What’s not to like? It has a delightfully cinched waist with a gorgeous belt. Incidentally, the skirt comes with the same belt in case you want to wear a different blouse or wear this blouse tucked in. It’s got lovely full sleeves with sheer fabric. It’s finished with gorgeous satin ribbon on the edgess – the bottom, the sleeves and the collar. Best of all, I love the print – a chocolately brown with flowers and leaves in olive and a lovely rosy peach. It’s yummy and isn’t it great that Kunglers produced it in four other colors as well.

Not Quite as Big Hair

Well, Gidge beat me in the Big Hair Olympics – but I think this is a contender.  It’s a style I love from Detour and is called Torrid – a good name because it does seem to just scream torrid, doesn’t it? I like it because it’s full enough and curly enough that it obscures some intersections that inevitably happen and it’s just plain sexy. With it I am wearing a great little top/dress I picked up at the Clothing Fair from Morea Style.

Yes, It’s Me under that black hair from !SyDS! that is named It’s Me! Like other !SyDS! hair it is simultaneously marvelous, wonderful, exciting, gorgeous and irritating. I want it in RED!!! I also would love a color script to change the color of the jewels instead of having only pink ones. Please, the quality and innovation is too good to leave us so short on options.  This is one of the fabulous hairstyles !SyDS! made for Accessory Fair 2010 – so get thee hence because even if it’s not red, it’s still red hot! I put together a fun little outfit for Sunday’s set at the Velvet. Maht played a retrospective of the music of Alex Chilton, including his solo work, music from Big Star and other bands plus covers of some of his songs. If I were an artist, I would not dress all in black like the stereotype. I would wear bright colored prints so I could pretend that a little splatter was actually part of the print. I think this lovely loose and comfy casual dress from LeeZu would be perfect. It allows for total freedom of movement and would allow me to excuse a dab or two of paint – at least in a those colors – and seriously, since I somehow decided to start wearing paintbrushes in my hair, I am going to make some paint messes.

A Twofer as Time Is Running Out

This is Nyte’n’Day’s lovely RFL Clothing Fair dress – worn with Alyssa Bijou’s Firenze jewelry set also for RFL I love the sleek and graceful dress but wish the jewelry came with instructions to turn off the sparkle. It’s not obnoxious bling, but I still wanted to turn it off so I could more fully enjoy the lovely sprays of diamonds.

This is Tres Beau’s incredible Amethyst gown for RFL Clothing Fair paired with Dahlinks Czarina set for RFL. The gown is amazing – and comes with two sets of prims – those with and without sparkle. I tossed the ones with sparkle because I know me and will never wear that, but the sparkle-free is just amazing!

Renegade

Adam n Eve like to do things a bit differently than most stores – and that’s true with their offerings for the RFL Clothing Fair. In addition to the more traditional Ruffles dress you saw the other day, they put out Renegade, a decidedly not the usual RFL pink or lavendar girly confection. featuring jeans and a hot bomber jacket (photo after the cut.) The jeans come with a cute red camo crop top, but I wanted something to tuck in. I picked up this gorgeous top at Apple May Designs at the fair instead and decided I just love it.

Unbelievably, it’s already the last day of the Clothing Fair. Many, though not all, items you have seen on the many blogs featuring RFL items are exclusive to the fair and won’t be available after midnight SLT. If that’s not enough reason to run-don’t walk to the fair right now, there are the magnificent builds that people spents weeks making.  It’s worth the lag, the crowds and everything just to see the wonderful builds.

C'est Si Bon

The Cherish dress from Tres Beau that I found at the Clothing Fair is a wow! Since the store is French in name – I thought of the song “C’est Si Bon”  with the oh-so-appropriate lines: ” With big Cadillac cars/Mink coats – jewels/As big as your fist – you know?” was a perfect choice. The necklace from Yabusaka for the Accessory Fair is not as big as your first, but I love the style – and the contemporary to traditional contrast of the jewelry and the dress.

Now, who can turn down the opportunity to listen to Eartha?
