I’m a Kevin Bacon game geek. Yes, I still like to play it. It makes me laugh, because I always have my “ringer” I like to pull out – to wow others with my incredible geek-i-tude. Why, you might ask me, am I sharing this with you – wearing this gorgeous dress by Clio – Pret a Porter?
I guess I just finally decided that I should have some Holiday Spirit and let all of you achieve this same level of dork at parties. Actually, most people are usually fairly stunned when you pull this one off because it’s so obscure.
If you don’t know – the Kevin Bacon Game works like this – all movie stars can be linked to Kevin Bacon in less than 6 degrees of separation. So you say “Link Madonna to Kevin Bacon” and I say “Oh that’s EASY! Madonna was in Vision Quest with Forest Whitaker who was in The Air I Breathe with KEVIN BACON”. Continue reading

This will be quick as I am running late and don’t want to be late for work. The focal point of this outfit is the stockings from Bijou – ably set off by a dress from Tea Lane and shoes from Shiny Things.
I love scarves, love them with a passion. My closet is full of scarves from Russian wedding ring scarves to color Indian scarves, from vibrant Pucci silks to glorious handpainted Japanese scarves and everything in between. In fact, I love scarves so much I invented a way to store them so they are easily accessible and don’t get a scrunchy and wrinkled. I hung two curtain rods in my closet, one six inches above the other, and put about 100 round shower curtain rings on each one. I hang my scarves by looping them through the rings so they are all visible, neat and easy to select when I dress in the morning. Do you ever wander around and suddenly see something that striked you as pure magic. That’s how I felt when I saw this dress from Lo-D Designs. Inspired by the rich froth of foam in the surf, the dress is bordered with a lace of sea foam. A lesser artist would have gone too realistic here and made the dress blue and made the sea foam purely foam, but she seems to have overlaid lace and foam textures to create something new and visually exciting. Now I really have to thank Thalia Jie who gave me the landmark for this store and told me I would like it. She sure was right.
Oh, the title makes no sense except it sort of fits the pose. I am totally with Cerrie on this, post titles are tough. Today I am wearing a crochet top from Skin Flicks and matching cream color pants from there as well – all part of a review pack that is full of wintery goodness.
Never mix plaids. If you wear plaid, wear on only one article of clothing. These are rules that are meant to be broken. Carefully! You can mix plaids, just make sure they are similar in hue and that the patterns are a different size.
It’s Election Night and I am eager to hear the results, expecting sweet victory. So I am wear the color of victory – gold – in a in-between dress with a dressy looking fabric and a casual cut – perfect for most election night parties from casual to cocktail.
I do love a sheath dress. Simple, elegant and oh-so-lovely. This blue dress from Skin Flicks is particularly beautiful with the lovely sleeve details and the assymetrical bodice.
