Love at First Sight

I am so glad I went to Fabulous Fashion TV on Monday night. First, it introduced me to two new jewelers, but even more exciting, whilst wandering around the store at one of the jewelry (Piso) I happened upon a new to me hair store called Mirone and it was love at first sight, and at second and third too for that matter.  Look at that whispy casually elegant updo. The hair textures are absolutely perfect and I am in love.

I am in love the the adorable dress from Truth as well. With the big, bold paisley design, it’s got a graphic punch to it. The shrug I added just in case the weather turned chilly. From Project Kiwi, it’s just that little bit of warmth on your shoulders that you want on a summer evening.

Second-Hand Rose

Truth’s Secondhand Jacket is delightful – it has an old-fashioned comfort look about it. You just know the fabric is soft from wear and that all the stiffness in the collar and pockets is long long gone and what’s left is pure, unadulterated comfort clothing.  I paired it with the Feure shirt from MichaMi in part because I am so in love with the texturing on that shirt I seek opportunities to wear it. I feel the same way about the Adam N Eve leather pants. They are my favorite leather pants in SL and they are hot. Moreover, they are thoughtfully packaged with a bootleg and regular leg for maximum flexibibility.

I've Been Wearing Rainbows

Bliensen & Maitai have found a new home in the Starlust region – on Horst, to be exact. To celebrate, there are new releases including shoes, jewelry and this incredible rainbow dress. Wait until you see the bottom, though that lovely rainbow froth of lace at the bodice gives you a hint.

Too Much Fun

Sometimes I put together an outfit that just appeals to my sense of fun and whimsy more than most and I end up wearing it for days, putting it back on after shooting another outfit, just because I love it so. That’s what happened with this outfit, perhaps because of the gloves more than anything…but I did fall for the look and had to treat it to a little more fun with the photo shoot, so I used the Mannequins from Lost Angel – just because they are too adorable for words.

LeeZu Does It Again

LeeZu is more fashion forward and fashion adventurous than I am. I love to go to fashion shows featuring her clothes because there’s sure to be some extravagant and experimental forms and designs that are just a bit more wild and wonderful than my personal comfort level and that’s fine. I love to see it and marvel and know that there will also be equally extravangant and wild pieces that are at my comfort level. Her work spans such a range that you can always find something that’s “just right” like this lovely gown called Adriana.

Did I say gown? I should have said cocktail dress, I guess? Depending on how you wear it, LeeZu includes enough prim options to let you get it just right. The Sayuri pumps, by the way, are from HaysUriza.

Hair Fair Short Hair

I decided to sort the hair by style and show them to you in groups of short, long, updos and so on. This first post shows you some of the short hair at Hair Fair. I actually got several more short hair styles but they were men’s styles and I thought I would rather show you that as a group. Some of these I tinted to get closer to the red I prefer.

Feeling So Bright

I had a date last night – a very pleasant first date and now I am feeling bright and happy so here’s an outfit that reflects how bright my mood is.  The skirt I found at Bran Co. and just loved it’s sort of light-hearted I-can-so put green, brown and blue together joie de vivre. The top is from Armidi, part of a shorts outfit and though it was not needed to cover any bare skin gaps, I added the Persona sash just to tie them together.

Am I blue?

Yes, blue only in the fabric though, not in spirit. How can you feel blue when you’re wearing something this gorgeous. This is the Wanda dress from Kunglers Couture and it’s as luscious and lovely as they come.  I adore the spray of lilies on the bodice. This called for some special hair so I pulled out the Jane with feathers from Sparkle Skye and then tinted the black feathers blue to match the gown.

Big Bad Blogger Challenge #4

Alice Chenaux now asks us:  “If there was someone you could trade places with for one day in Second Life, who would it be and why? Bonus points if you find this person and snap a picture with them!” This is hard to answer as  there really is not anyone I would like to trade places with.   For me, Second Life is very much about being and doing what I have created as my life in Second Life –  woman with a creative occupation whose life is unburdened by responsibilities, living somewhat a frivolous and self-indulgent life.   I would not mind logging in as Gidge for an hour and creating some folders for her to sort her inventory into because her inventory is one big long unsorted (ever) mess. Wherever a folder landed when opened, that’s where it’s at.  Then again, perhaps if it were orderly, she might not find anything. What I would really love to do is one of those operations where you can see the desktop of someone else’s computer while they are still there – and see how a few of the jewelers I so admire actually do what they do. I mean, how do they work with such tiny prims, how do they make them so small? How can they see what they are doing? Their work astonishes and amazes me and I would love to be able to watch them work through their eyes. As luck has it, I do have photos of some of the marvelous jewelers who make Second Life much more beautiful for me though I have not yet shot the jeweler who made the lovely necklace in earrings for this outfit.

Big Bad Blogger Challenge #3

Alice Chenaux now asks us: You’ve been given a sim of your very own to use for free for one year. However, there are 3 rules. It cannot be residential, it cannot be commercial, and it has to be open to the public. What do you do with it?

Mimikri takes the art of flirty feminity to a new level with Sina.

Well, that’s easy. I would make a photo park like what most of the MDR sim was except for the part that was the studio. There were sections with foliage and weather for each part of the year, an underwater sunken ship and underwater volcano, there was a beach, a corn field, three different waterfalls and all sort of box sets up in the sky. It was a photographer’s dream. A dream that poofed. Luckily there are still wonderful places to shoot all about the grid including Ode where the photo above was taken.
