Quick Look – Rebel Hope

I ran over to check out the 1920’s Berlin build and when I popped in, I saw that we were asked to dress for the period. I have folders inside folders inside folders in my inventory and in my Clothing Folder, there is a Vintage folder and inside that there is a Twenties folder. So I popped this on and was ready to go.

Murder Incorporated

There actually was a Murder, Inc. that flourished (if you can use that word for it) from the 20’s until the 40’s – a company of hired killers and enforcers who worked for the National Crime Syndicate.  However, the mob has never been an equal opportunity employer so I am sure Miss Murder never worked for them. Actually, Miss Murder is the name of the delightful little plaid outfit from A-Bomb that includes this adorable skirt and tie. It’s so cute that it’s already had a few outings on the feed so I decided to change it up a bit by changing the shirt to this one from Cachet (Lelutka).

Am I Plaid Enough?

Regular readers know we love Sn@tch here at It’s Only Fashion – fabulously affordable fatpacks of fun. Ivey Deschanel, the genius behind Sn@tch is quite possiblyly the witties designerr in Second Life.  Without doubt, she is the wittiest I have encountered and she applies that wit not just in her clothing names, but in the designs as well. Only someone with a highly developed with would name this Enough Plaid…and use such wildly vibrant colors. I don’t think these textures will find themselves in any hunting tartans soon. Because Sn@tch clothes come in fat packs, you get to wildly play with them too. Case in point, Ivey did not put this top with this bottom.  I mashed up two together…and I think it works.

Butterflies Hanging Fire

Sometimes I shoot a great outfit or dress and then don’t post it right away, letting it get bumped by something more topical or timely. I try to shoot a few outfits at once and stock up a bit in case I  can’t get anything done some nights. This is one that’s been hanging fire for more than 10 days and really it deserves better than that. It’s the butterfly gown from Moxie Polano. I picked it up at Relay For Life, but didn’t shoot it right away, so it’s been waiting its turn very patiently.  Looking at the excellent cutwork and battenburg lace on the bodice as well as the button gloves, I really should not have let it wait. It’s just so lovely.

Do you want to feel like a Star? Part 4 of I ♥ EC Week

If you want to feel like a star you could initiate massive hydrogen fission and combust, burning at temperatures beyond my imagination, but measurable in Kelvins. Or you could run over to Evie’s Closet and pick up the wonderful Love Story gown. Believe me, the second option is much better for your complexion.

Where's Gainsborough When You Need Him?

Okay, okay, I know it’s a stretch, but after I put this on I could not resist the comparison. Of course, Blue Boy was all satin and lace and this is suede and corduroy. I know, think of it as working class Blue Boy.  This actually a mash-up that began with the blue dress from AXEL. It had a lovely undershirt and leggings in an array of colors and looked cute, but perhaps because of my mood just did not pop for me. So I started rummaging around in my folders and pulled out these blue suede pants from Baiastice. This is actually the first time I have worn the leg prims. Normally I wear them with boots. I remembered these old Bronte slippers from Adam N Eve which had me rummaging around for white knee socks and a tenuous resemblance to Blue Boy. These are lovely vintage slippers and that little froth of lace just makes me smile.

I've Been Harperized

While reading the blogs yesterday, I read my friend Harper Ganesvoort‘s marvelous overview of Tukinowaguma hair. I already had hair from there, but her post was still a revelation – of how long its been since I went there and how much the hair has developed and improved. The first place I went after signing in was straight to Tukinowaguma Main Store – and was stunned by all the irresistible options. This one – Pincushion – jumped right into my inventory. Now, the vendor pictures showed no red hair options and I figured I would be tinting, but this is color-change scripted so I only had to click on the hair, the red button and test the many, many red options.

But…I would not say I was Harperized if it were only one thing. You see, I signed in this morning and surprise, surprise Harper had gifted me a lovely, wonderful and sexy dress from Clio. I should point out that Harper is not associated with Clio other than as a customer who gave this lovely gown as a gift. Of course, I had to try it on immediately.

Now that’s Harperized! Oh my, that Pincushion hair is made for back shots. And isn’t the train on this dress magnificent?

You Are Cleared To Land – An It's Only Fashion PSA

posted by Gidge Uriza

Going on RL vacation sent me shopping for beachwear on the grid and I was ecstatic when I ran into this hot island inspired piece at BOOM. I thought the bikini with the slightly transparent cover up on the jacket layer was a great look and really exotic- a MUST have for my vacation shopping. (SHUT UP I CAN IMAGINE I WORE IT ON RL VACATION).

It was also a great opportunity to take one of Hart Larsson’s PXL CREATIONS Grace skins in Fashion Tan tone for a run. I don’t wear a LOT of tan skins but I do like the warm tone on his.  Plus I like the nipples and the naughty bits on his skins. Where else can you say “Oh my friend does my hoohaha?” and not mean something sexual – except on the Grid? Continue reading

All Dolled Up

I love Pixel Dolls. Have I said that before? The store was one of my early shopping discoveries back when I was pretty new to Second Life. It was probably the fourth or fifth store I discovered and within my budget range.  Of course, with the amazing 50L sale that just ended, it’s even more affordable lately.  It’s definitely a place for stocking up on good separated like this highwaisted skirt. Now this skirt is one that makes just about any shirt wearable. I think my readers know by now I am not a lover of the crop top look – not in RL or SL. I want my shirts long enough to reach my skirt or pants and long enough to tuck in.  Sometimes though, a shirt is just so adorable I cannot resist and then it sits unworn.  Unless, of course, there’s a highwaisted skirt that can coodinate. Luckily, Pixel Dolls made this skirt in a host of colors.
