Sunday Morning Rain Is Falling….

posted by Gidge Uriza

As if I needed more reasons to feel tired, it’s been raining for days – which is the opposite of inspiring me to get stuffs done. Yet – I pounded some coffee and found something festive to show you this rainy day.

I’m constantly looking for an excuse to wear these pants from Schadenfreude, and this outfit from A-bomb was just the excuse I needed. The bodice is tricked out with buckels and geegaws and it normally comes with a skirt. But as I said, I lurve the pants and mood ring, I have been dying to wear them again. Continue reading

Nu Shooz

When Lavea Alter to me she was working on some shoes last week and passed me a pair of unfinished ones with zebra skin to take a peek and offer a hem, a haw and an opinion. I respect designers who are open to opinions and critique and so I shared my longing for a nice floral fabric ankle boot and look what happened! Floral brocade yumminess in many colors – and just in time for a mini tribute to the Little Black Dress.

A-Bomb²

Gidge blogged the Paper Heart dress the other day and yet I could not resist its stripey goodness, so I thought I would see what other configuration I could wear it in and the very first thing I tried is another recent A-Bomb release, the pants from No More Words. Stripey heaven! A belt, some wine and thou and I was ready to go.

Bloganista at Home: Gardening!

posted by Gidge Uriza

We own a bizarre parcel of mainland, bizarre because we bought it piecemeal for the prims and therefore we don’t have a nice big chunk but rather have a chunk plus a swath.

Lately, though, I’ve been expanding my dwelling area to include the swaths – as “vacation” land – outside our regular estate area.  When I received a garden kit from MishMash I decided it was a perfect addition to the little rustic area I’ve been putting together next to my river.

Sigh, gardening? Really? I mean, it’s so DIRTY! And you get SWEATY! AH-HA – not with this lovely point and click set from Mishmash. You just CLICK to choose your crop and voila – they grow! Continue reading

A-Bomb is The Bomb

When Lavea Alter dropped a folder with some newness from A-Bomb, I didn’t look right away. I had recently shown a few great outfits from A-Bomb and had a long list of to-do outfits. But then, curiosity got the better of me and I tried on this outfit called Ventura Highway and was thrilled to see that Lavea has added the shadows on the skin that clothes naturally cast – a huge step forward in design and one that very few clothiers take the trouble and effort to do. Look along the neckline, the waistline, the edges of the top – this is someone stepping it up several notches. And look at that prim ruffle, is that insanely good or what? What’s even better is the ruffle comes on the chest and the spine so you can wear it as you need it.

Rhodesy's Purple is A-Bomb

posted by Gidge Uriza

My friend Rhodesy is famed for her beautiful purple tresses. When I saw this delicious Purple MELT THE GUNS ensemble from A-Bomb I simply had to bring out some purple hair as an homage to Rho. No one wears purple hair with the style and grace she does, those some of us try. Continue reading

A-Bomb's Miss Kiss Rocks It!

Plurk should definitely be on the tactics list for anyone planning to conquer the world. It is an idea to action place like no other. For example, the recent Blogger Appreciation Week mushroomed into such an extravaganza in part because plurk is so good an spreading ideas and information into ever-expanding circles and networks. It also can be the catalyst for amazing spurts of creativity and then fun things like this fabulous dress can happen. You see, yesterday I expressed an inappropriate level of lust for a dress worn by Dita van Teese at DSquared.  Plurkista Lavea Alter of A-Bomb ventured a stab at translating it into the virtual world and you see the result above. She even volunteered to pose for this shoot and that is her rocking the Dita look on the right.

Murder Incorporated

There actually was a Murder, Inc. that flourished (if you can use that word for it) from the 20’s until the 40’s – a company of hired killers and enforcers who worked for the National Crime Syndicate.  However, the mob has never been an equal opportunity employer so I am sure Miss Murder never worked for them. Actually, Miss Murder is the name of the delightful little plaid outfit from A-Bomb that includes this adorable skirt and tie. It’s so cute that it’s already had a few outings on the feed so I decided to change it up a bit by changing the shirt to this one from Cachet (Lelutka).
