B&W, Braids & the Hottest Shoes Evah!!!

I recently found a couple of darling black and white dresses, both heavily influenced by vintage styles, both from relatively under-blogged stores and oddly enough, I wore my hair in braids with both of them, though totally by accident. What was not an accident was my choice of shoes – the hottest shoes ever, ever, evah! But first, here’s a lovely black and white pop print from Lost Dreams with the useful and descriptive name Retro Dress.

This dress also has a pop print though the shape is a good decade older. It’s name is Delana Kisses, an unhelpful name unles you think those teardrop shapes remind you of Hershey’s Kisses or something. This is from ROC.

Digit Does Art Nouveau

I am always excited when I see designers inspired by my favorite artists so when I saw this dress by Digit Darkes I jumped up and down with joy. Gustav Klimt was a great artist and many folks know his most famous work, The Kiss and in that painting you can see those wonderful gold decorations that distinguish his work and are found in the Asaka dress from Digit Darkes.

Three More from Coco & Co.

An adorable black and white jumper. Shoes are from HAYSURIZA.

A white lace top with black leggings. The shoes are from COCO - gorgeous, but why oh why oh why oh why do we have to tint each foot color separately? Most of us dont have different skin on the left and right legs.

A white lace top with black leggings. The shoes are from COCO - Hawt!!! Gorgeous!!! But why oh why oh why oh why do we have to tint each foot color separately? Most of us don't have different skin on the left and right legs. Let's hope they make a quick fix and update that soon. The tinting hud is unwieldy and slow and to do it twice is just not nice.

Blooming in June

Oh, the Designer Showcase Network dropped another stunning dress on me. This lovely Hothouse Flower from Ingenue showed up in my inbox and reminds me how much I love Ingenue’s lovely vintage clothing. This dress, however, seems to indicate some new, more contemporary, styles are coming out as well.  The sculptie bodice is a delight and after increasing it just a bit to fit the bust, it was perfect. I also have to give her props for attaching the bodice to the right pec, leaving the spine and chest free for jewelry.

Whippet & Buck

Some stores have names that just sound like they are fated to offer outstanding quality and succeed – to be the stores that become the clothiers of generations. Well, clothing generations of Second Life residents might be an outsized ambition, but Whippet & Buck have the name, and most importantly, they have the quality. The name makes me think of England and John Robert Cozens and all those country fashions of investment dressing – the dress that is timeless and is worn for decades. Well, they seem to have that idea in mind themselves as their forms are timeless and classic, such as this magnificent pencil dress and crop jacket.

Summer Days

Summer dresses are like summer days, bright and cheerful and full of light and air. This Holly dress from Kungler’s is definitely a perfect summer dress. It was a gift from Barbra Kungler – a thank you for including her in my Double Take project. How lovely is that, she was posing as a favor for me and I got a present out of it – and a lovely present as you can see.

The Fastest Compliment Ever

Okay, so I was checking out some demos from DrLife and Rockberry and generally futzing around when I got an IM reminding me that Achariya was going to me on Fabulous Fashion TV and so I dropped what I was doing and just before TP’ing I realized I had on DEMO skin. Now, unnoticed, Ryker Beck had sent out two Blogger packs of her two new skin releases under the new brand Exodi (previously Genesis) and they were sitting there innocently waiting in the folder right above the demo packs, so I  quickly popped it open and wore the first skin I clicked on and tp’ed away. No sooner did I get there than I received an IM – “love your skin!!! can you tell me where you got it.”  Well, I knew it was Exodi, but I had not even looked at what I looked like yet. I just had perfect confidence that if Ryker made it, it was fab. And well, judge for yourself.

This is what else I was wearing… The flower wash jeans from Callie Cline on sale right now for 50L. I have been planning to hop over there and pick them up, but the sale lit a fire and I went there first thing where I ran into Callie so I grabbed her for my Double Take project.

Paint Second Life Purple

Now this is purple. This will be a quick post as the dresses and shoes are again from Feel China and R2 and the skins from Curio, but I so enjoyed the lovely, bright dresses at Feel China and could not wait to share them with you. And don’t worry they come in many colors other than purple.

Are these shoes hot or what?

Paint Me Purple (More Purple)

So I was sent on a wild goose chase on Saturday. I saw a woman with adorable freckled skin that I didn’t recognize and asked her where she got it. She said it was from DrLife – so off I went to DrLife where there was not one freckled skin to be had. Actually the skins were lovely examples of the Japanese style of skins, hand-drawn, sweet and almost luminescent. I decided to wander around the store some more to see if the freckles were hiding up the stairs and found some fab hair, though the stair ramp does not work as it’s blocked by a prim so you must cam to see the upstairs of the shop.  It’s worth it. Look at that hair.

I found these dresses there, too, but suggest you go to the Feel China store directly because they’re in a vendor of 62 separate items. And with that I think I just revealed how far I can go when I am intrigued by a store.

Paint Me Purple (Wisteria)

Okay, this is only sort of purple. I am easing into the big Paint the Grid Purple todo tomorrow with this wisteria colored frock from Couverture.  The shoes are ones I chose as part of my Blogger Appreciation gift from Maitreya – from the wonderful Soho boots. What you could see if you zoomed is that fabric is very similar to the fabric in the jumper.  I could not resist.
