Ode to the Monarch Butterfly

Monarch butterflies are beautiful and amazing. It astonishes me that those small, tissue-paper thin leaves can carry them across the ocean, but they can and they manage to migrate 3000 miles fluttering those tiny wings. Of course, if you have ever chased a butterfly, you know those wings can really move.

Ode is a place for chasing butterflies, catch one and you might get a piece of jewelry by Random Calliope. I have been chasing butterflies, but i went there today to chase photos – specifically, I wanted to wear this stunning Azazello dress from Vindi Vindaloo – an homage to the monarch butterfly. the land inbetween

My friend Naru im’ed me to let me know that C was in the lucky chair at Aoharu. Do you have any idea how rare it is for a C like me to get to tp in and rescue a lucky chair party from a long wait? Most lucky chair parties have 3 to 4 C’s all waiting their chance. What in the word does that have to do with this picture? Simply that I won a fabulous pair of shoes that made me think of this dress and pull it out of my closet. It’s called the Black Widow dress and that made me think of cemetaries which leads us full circle and back to the land inbetween and its fabulous cemetary.

A Star is Born…

Not really. I was busy yesterday building a concert stage for a live concert by Maht and his friend Ethan later this month and wanted to check out the spotlight placement so I hopped on the stool and took a few snaps. As you can see the spotlight falls behind, not in front of the face, so folks at the concert will have a clear view and can snap photos without any trouble.  However, if I were a rock star, I would be perfectly at home on the stage with always perfect Adam n Eve leather pants and this adorable top from CHI. Far and Wide

I found a fun site last night – and forgive me if everyone in the world already knows about it – it was new to me. It’s part of Koin-Up a social networking site that overall confuses me and leaves me befuddled and unnetworked. However, it more than makes up for that with this resources. Koin-Up Places. It’s sort of a resident-generated pictoral directory of Second Life’s® cool places and it got me running far and wide. I shot this photo in Tuscany. Continue reading

Putting Out Fire With Gasoline: Taking Lingerie Public pt. 5

More than one person has called me a pixel prude so imagine my surprise at myself when I opened a review box sent by a new designer with a new store (Jordanna Magic of Magic Kisses) and found myself most drawn to an extremely racy lingerie set. Totally not my style – but there was something about it that I liked. Continue reading

Holy Pink Leopards, Batman, It's Part III

There is a second workroom at the Photo Studio – on the ocean floor.  Down there we have two photospheres set up and that’s where we have all sort of silliness laying around to dress up photos. From moons, to rainbows to shamrocks to raining rose petals on wedding cakes, we have a garden of strangeness on the ocean floor. You can see some of the things to play with behind me in this photo in which I am wearing pink leopard skin. Now what could get me to wear pink leopard skin?   Continue reading

Taking Lingerie Public, Part Two

One of my frustrations with Second Life® is that despite having utterly gorgeous lingerie we seldom get to wear it. Even when the layer is free, we often cannot wear our lingerie because straps will show or the thong will rise higher than our pants layer. Yes, we can wear it for our sweethearts, but in that case, how long does it really stay on? Last week I shared one strategy for taking our lingerie public. I decided I would make a continuing series on this topic, examples of lingerie I dragged out of the closet to give them some air.

Today I am using the most common, tried and true technique, wearing a lovely corset as a top. This stunning corset is from Simone Stern’s Style Starts Here – the Ruched Satin Corset with Gemmed Trim. This one is black but it comes in several other colors as well. The jeweled trim on the back of the corset is stunningly beautiful and such a surprise on lingerie.
