A Dress To Fool A Prince

posted by Gidge Uriza

I’ve got some strict rules in my life. One of which is that when watching musicals, you are required to sing along, with gusto, any song you know.   My Fair Lady is probably one of the harder pull off as the ridiculous soprano is impossible to sing but – you get the point.

You must sing. LOUD. With Feeling.

I could’ve DAAAAAAAAAAAAAANCED ALL NIGHT…….like that. Continue reading

A Velvet Sunday

posted by Gidge Uriza

Our friend Maht was dj-ing at the Velvet a couple of weeks ago and I actually was able to get in world during the day, so I thought I’d pop over and visit my friends and listen to his set.

This was exactly the excuse I needed to pull out these plaid pants from Little Rebel. The set comes with three pair of pants and this tintable tank and was exactly the sort of comfy/indie look I wanted at the Velvet that afternoon. Continue reading

Going For Baroque

I know it’s a bad pun but I’m not the one going for broke, it’s Prelude designer Polaire Aeghin. She is going to extremes to create outfits you can wear three, four, five different ways even before you start mixing and matching with the rest of your wardrobe. Good grief, she even includes two *TWO* parrot canes, one with and one without an AO.

Crickets, Grasshoppers & Grapes, Oh My!

I have been too long gone from home. I completely missed St. Urho’s Day – somehow thinking it was the day after St. Patrick’s Day rather than the day before. Nonetheless, I will celebrate it anyway by wearing this lovely purple dress – from the newly reopened Modern Gypsy. I will pass on the purple beer, but seriously, you have to love a holiday that calls for wearing purple clothing!

Fun on 3/17 Without Shamrocks

posted by Gidge Uriza

So it’s St Patricks day and you’re about to barf from the amount of shamrocks, green tinsel and erin go bragh on the feeds today, aren’t you?

That’s why I posted mine YESTERDAY bishes.

That being said, it seemed appropriate to wear something green today nonetheless, especially if I didn’t want that Irish Curse – the pinch for not wearing green.  🙂

So I thought I’d share one more of my Callie Cline pickups (NO I AM NO WHERE NEAR DONE I TOLD YOU I SPENT ALL MY MONEY THERE SO HUSH!) Continue reading

Afrophilia

The new issue of Vanity Fair suggests that the explosion of leopard, zebra crocodile and python in fashion is the byproduct of Afrophilia. They offer many examples of clothes and accessories in the trend – but I don’t know if that proves their point.

I was thinking it was nostalgia for the Abba and disco. 8)  To illustrate my suggestion, I went for it big with leopard and palazzo pants and hair that might be a bit over the top – but it sings “I Will Survive” at the top of its lungs. Not only will I survive, but I will wrestle wild animals to do so.

Hunting Zebra on the Serengeti

posted by Gidge Uriza

It would take a special girl, a girl with mad skills, a girl with a certain flair, a girl who made the boys her slave with a wink……..to send them Zebra hunting to make her such and outfit.

A girl with really long legs.

Clearly Digit Darkes knows such girls exist. Girls who roam the savannah in lingerie, waiting for their lover to return with more beautiful zebra – for her ever expanding collection. Continue reading

Jazmin & Clyde

Bonnie & Clyde may have come to a bad end, but I think Jazmin and Clyde roll together famously and will ramble along until a comfortable retirement in some distant inventory purge.  The Clyde in this outfit is the new line of ribbon-tied ankle boots from Digit Darkes.  Jazmin is the marvelous minidress from Bare Rose that is as soft, romantic and frilly as can be…and flexible as well, wearable as a blouse or dress (just drop the  prim) and comes in several colors. I chose the wear the black dress for this shoot.

Would You Like To Come To The Pants Party?

posted by Gidge Uriza

Okay, there isn’t a party in my pants. I just wanted to use that line.

I picked up an outfit to wear snowboarding, and kept wanting Cajsa to shoot it, but this was the third or 4th outfit I pulled out that I had saved and this STILL Wasn’t it.

Sigh. But It’s cute, isn’t it? Again from RAY SKIN, again a dollarbie I think this one may have been in the back of the store beyond the courtyard. It was actually NEAR the snowboards – thus my confusion. Continue reading

Quick Look: ICON Jewelry

posted by Gidge Uriza

I was strolling around shopping one night, trying to decide if I wanted new shoes at Juicy, trying to decide if I wanted this or that, when I wandered into ICON. Featuring jewelry in sets and bags, and other accessories, I was surprised I hadn’t found them before.  The purses are what first caught my eye and somehow I got out with one though! How’d THAT happen?

But I did get THIS! Continue reading
