If you ever said “When I grow up I want to be a princess” have I got a dress for you. While walking the boots at Relay For Life I came upon DeGroot Innovations and saw this and went “ooh” and then “ohh la la” and then “ooh” again. Yes, this is the dress of childhood princess dreams and grownup fantasies.

Dressing With Flair
This one is all about the shoes, dahlinks. Gidge hasn’t tooted her horn yet, but she was on Fabulous Fashion TV on Monday night talking about accessories and she was fabulous! Absolutely Fabulous! and I’m not talking Edina. Well, one the accessories she highlighted were the hot new flats from Sasy Scarborough’s Flair. And then, Sasy made special editiion It’s Only Fashion Button Flats in pink and orange and orange and pink. (You can guess who’s pink and who’s orange) and well, on top of that they are Free! at the FFTV studio and I have waited a few days to give Gidge time to brag about herself and clearly she’s just being humble. So, that’s my excuse for blogging this before her when clearly it’s her story. She will just have to blog the second pair.
In a blue mood
So, I was in a blue mood today and I don’t mean unhappy, soulful or sad. No, I just wanted some blue clothes and blue jewelry and to play me some blues on ITunes. So I put on some Gatemouth Brown and rooted around in the semi-organized chaos I call my inventory. The first thing I pulled out were the stockings from League. Now, I know you don’t start an outfit from the stockings, but I didn’t care, I wanted to wear them and I knew I could find something to suit. Sure enough, this skirt from Sugar Cube was perfect, so it was simply a matter of finding a shirt, some accessories and I would be good to go.
Just Say No to No-Mod
I love this mohair skirt from The Closet. In fact, I have it in three colors and if she made more colors, I would probably have it in those colors as well. And putting it together with some warm cozy tights and well, you have my favorite sort of run-around outfit. And it must be, I think I ran around in it for three days. But there was a problem – and not to single out The Closet – it is widespread problem that affects clothes from many stores and designers. It’s one that would be very simple to fix, though. The thing is – no mod prim clothing is just plain bad business practice.
No Place For Beginners or Sensitive Hearts..

So my only two trips to Vegas were via the company I worked for, business trips of various sorts. Despite that, I got to look from my “I’m just here on business with no cash for nutty stuff” point of view at some of the legendary Vegas activities.
Such as, prostitution!
The last time I went, our company rented out the entire Treasure Island/Mirage hotel complex (ahem yeah it was a big company) and put up every manager and above from around the world.
One of my two favorite moments in Vegas came in the casino by the elevators to the tower rooms at the Treasure Island. I step off the elevator and walk toward the bar, where the president of my division (my boss) is seated, chatted up by this bejeweled girl in bright green. Continue reading
Prelude to More Options
As I have mentioned, this new collection from Prelude is dominated by outfits that are clothing suites with multiple blouses, skirts and pants for mixing and matching. Still, sometimes you want to add something of your own – as I did with the glam Micha Mi tank here. I love the little boleros in the Sorbonne suite, but preferred a simple tank to the fancy bras that are designed to go with it.
Lanikai
Sorry for blogging so late and with just an abbreviated post at that. I had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day today and have not accomplished much of anything at all today. Anyway, that’s the why for this late and short post. The dress is from L’Abel and is scrumptious.
Going For Baroque
I know it’s a bad pun but I’m not the one going for broke, it’s Prelude designer Polaire Aeghin. She is going to extremes to create outfits you can wear three, four, five different ways even before you start mixing and matching with the rest of your wardrobe. Good grief, she even includes two *TWO* parrot canes, one with and one without an AO.
Blue Blooded Fashion
Has anyone else noticed a recent surge in the creativity and in the sheer volume of clothing releases lately? There’s always a massive number of new releases week in and week out – but this week the volume seems to have surged and even better, some of them are just so exciting and fun. Now, dear readers, you all know I am Girlie Girl, not a Gothie Girl, but some Goth designs are just irresistibly feminie and cute and I cannot resist. That’s certainly true of this lovely teal dress from Blue Blood.
L'Abel Loveliness
Neferia Abel is familiar to most fashion followers. She’s been a successful designer for a long time and just keeps getting better. Known primarily for her stunning vintage wear, a stop at her store Ivalde was a mini-lesson in fashion evolution and history. However, weren’t we all curious what someone with such skill and creativity could come up with freed from the constraints of historical fashion dictates?
We need wonder no more. With Ivalde strong and successful, Neferia has launched a new line of contemporary clothing called L’abel which is seriously one of the cleverest fashion puns ever. When your label is such a clever stroke of genius, your line of fashion better match up and it does. For example, this lovely Marjon dress.
