Casual Friday – Oooo Mr Kotter! Pick Me!

posted by Gidge Uriza

So it’s a funny story about my shoes. These stiletto’s from Periquita I picked up the day they were released.  I excitedly took them home and put them on and……

I hated them.

They didn’t fit they looked crazy they were just all wrong. So I jammed them into the back of my closet angrily and went on with my pixel life. But then, when getting dressed I wanted some heels to wear with this t-shirt (only on the grid, right?)…..and I saw these heels …….and decided to give them another try.

You would think an AV over two years old would remember that SOMETIMES the grid is borked and things don’t rezz right, look nuts etc…..and you should always give them a second try. Continue reading

That must have been some battle

I won this dress!  And after Iota told me about the inspiration for the dress – The Battle of Rajasthan – I think it’s so appropriate that I won it. To be completely honest, I don’t see a battle going on in the dress – unless it’s a battle between pink and green. If so, well the wearer is the victor. Iota made this dress in several shades and it took me almost two weeks to pick the one I wanted. There’s a gorgeous blue and yellow that had my name on it, too.  However, since retiring from photography, I have to watch my lindens more closely and happily winning 2nd in one of her photo contests, I was able to get one. I love pink and green together – just about more than anything…so this is it. The dress is called Junko – after one of Iota’s friends, but no matter the name, or the inspiration, the fabric is just amazingly detailed and beautiful.

Second-Hand Rose

Truth’s Secondhand Jacket is delightful – it has an old-fashioned comfort look about it. You just know the fabric is soft from wear and that all the stiffness in the collar and pockets is long long gone and what’s left is pure, unadulterated comfort clothing.  I paired it with the Feure shirt from MichaMi in part because I am so in love with the texturing on that shirt I seek opportunities to wear it. I feel the same way about the Adam N Eve leather pants. They are my favorite leather pants in SL and they are hot. Moreover, they are thoughtfully packaged with a bootleg and regular leg for maximum flexibibility.

PIRANHA!

posted by Gidge Uriza

The Piranha pocket dress by Bliensen + Maitai is just one more eclectic offering from this very versatile creator.  First off the dress is practical with fun pockets for your smokes and what not 🙂

Second off…….it’s called PIRANHA! Does anyone remember that terrible terrible movie from the 70s called PIRANHA? OMG that freaking movie damaged me as a child, I couldn’t go nightswimming for YEARS because I was nervous.  Those things eat fast!

Luckily, this fun dress has no hidden dangers and is nothing but cute cute cute. It also comes in a black version and they are sold together.

The hair is from Fishy Strawberry – HUNTRESS. I’m all about the braids these days.

It’s a shorty tonight girls…….I’m sleepy sleepy sleepy……..

I should shoot some jammies! No no………go to sleep!

🙂

Who Is Your Caterer?

posted by Gidge Uriza

My friend Cezare, on a whim, created many lovely treats for a recent soiree he and his partner Polaire hosted.  Being a silly girl who LOVES SL food at parties, I was at once taken back by how beautiful the things were and unique!

I demanded he open a shop and become my caterer.

Kidding.

Ok, but I did say OMG WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE A SHOP??

So now a few weeks later after much creating and getting things the way he wanted them, he brings us CAFE GOURMAND! I truly recommend, if you like to set out treats for fun and beauty, giving this new store a try. It’s just lovely, the things he has created. Continue reading

Three More from Coco & Co.

An adorable black and white jumper. Shoes are from HAYSURIZA.

A white lace top with black leggings. The shoes are from COCO - gorgeous, but why oh why oh why oh why do we have to tint each foot color separately? Most of us dont have different skin on the left and right legs.

A white lace top with black leggings. The shoes are from COCO - Hawt!!! Gorgeous!!! But why oh why oh why oh why do we have to tint each foot color separately? Most of us don't have different skin on the left and right legs. Let's hope they make a quick fix and update that soon. The tinting hud is unwieldy and slow and to do it twice is just not nice.

Stunning coral suit with Coco & Co. matching shoes.

Designer Showcase Network, Part 2

Here is another example of the Designer Showcase Network at work – reminding me of a store I already know and showing me something new. It’s been a few months since I have visited Elate and this item from the  Designer Showcase Network reminded me that I like Elate’s design sensibility and inventiveness.  Most of what I have seen from there has been brighter than this subtle and reflective skirt and blouse – and seeing this new mood in Elate’s designs is exciting.  This morning’s example was the DSN introducing me to a completely new designer, this afternoon nudging my memory and showing a different side of a known store. I look forward to the growth and expansion of the DSN and don’t forget to check out the web site because it explains the effort made to make sure designers all reach the same number of people and that participants receive new items, from different stores.
