Designer Showcase Network, Part 2

Here is another example of the Designer Showcase Network at work – reminding me of a store I already know and showing me something new. It’s been a few months since I have visited Elate and this item from the  Designer Showcase Network reminded me that I like Elate’s design sensibility and inventiveness.  Most of what I have seen from there has been brighter than this subtle and reflective skirt and blouse – and seeing this new mood in Elate’s designs is exciting.  This morning’s example was the DSN introducing me to a completely new designer, this afternoon nudging my memory and showing a different side of a known store. I look forward to the growth and expansion of the DSN and don’t forget to check out the web site because it explains the effort made to make sure designers all reach the same number of people and that participants receive new items, from different stores.

I love the flirty tiers on the skirt. The colors are rich and beautifully matched. The lovely floral print is perfectly done and with this pose you can see how well the textures work. With it I am wearing the fab Lalika sandals from EarthStones. Remember with these shoes you get 3 choices for the stone and 3 choices for the metal. Yummy!

Highlighting items from the Designer Showcase Network is a little different. It’s not technically a freebie announcement because you cannot run to the store and pick it up for free – though you can buy it!! It’s also not a promotional item in the fashion blog sense since anyone can sign up for the Design Showcase Network. So…I created a category that will show up below and will also  add that to the tags for DSN items so you know where it came from.

Okay, now I have to take a moment to pay proper respect to the hair. This is Simone from Bishwear and is as exciting as their magnificent Toss Me Around hair that is a go-to-staple in most fashionista’s closets. Straight hair is such a challenge and we see hundreds of valient attempts to may long straight hair that can be photographed without strange intersections.  The thing to understand, this hair is not photoshopped, not fixed. All intersections and flexi weirdness remain.  I am impressed.

I am wearing the lovely Grace skin from PXL Creations and again, that hair!!
