Because there can never be enough newspaper dresses

LeLutka Clipping Dress

I love newspapers and  so why not show that love with a newspaper dress?  LeLutka, more recently Cachet, entered the sorority of newpaper honoring creators with this lovely little dress that is dressed up a bit with a lovely net ruffle at the back.

This is why I fail at hunts

Last night I started the CSR Stamp Rally. It’s a good thing there’s plenty of time to get cards stamped because the first place I teleported to was Happy Mood and after getting my cards stamped, I stopped to look if there were anything new. But that was not really why I stopped, i stopped to play on their marvelous posing tree. Oh yes, I had to sit on every pose and loll about. And that was as far as I got on the stamp rally last night.

Winter Warmth

Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to wear all the lovely winter wools and layers and run around in the snow and ice and have your feet stay warm, dry and toasty? Wait,  it’s Second Life and I can. Whee! As someone who grew up in the Minnesota Northwoods – who remembers the joy of touching a frozen metal stair rail with my tongue at age five and recalls my hand sticking to the door handle of my dad’s car, I so love living in a warmer place that seldom sees a flake of snow. But I would have occasional bouts of nostalgia for the sparking beauty of winter snow, of hoarfrost on the trees and all the loveliness that winter brings. Second Life gives me a taste of that without the chapped lips and runny nose.  And so I can dress for these winter wonderlands in lovely wools such as this Zona Cero coat and this Boom sweater.

To Cleave or Not to Cleave

Chai Double Shot with Cleavage

Oh, such decisions we face when donning the new Chai Double Shots skin. Not only are there several makeup options, but each option comes with 4 basic choices, freckles or not and cleavage or not. The last is a new one and had  me in a quandary asking whether to cleave or not to cleave. Is it nobler to to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous flatchestedness or take bosoms against a sea of troubles and by shading and highlights end them?

Chai Double Shot without Cleavage

Chai Double Shot without Cleavage

To cleave, to sag no more and by cleaving  we end the heartache and the thousand natural shocks of gravity that flesh is heir to. To cleave to inflate, to shade perchance to dream of bosoms, aye, there’s the tit.For in that cleavage of D cups what dreams may come when we have stuffed our mortal bazongas.

Oh, Will, I do apologize.

Uncle Wiggly's Almost Free Skirt & Gifties

A trip to Uncle Wiggly is in order. Uncle Wiggly is one of those fun stores where there’s no particular type of creation – which varies from clothing to furniture to foliage and makes stops everywhere in between. What does not fluctuate is the whimsy and quality of these items – most of which are 1 linden. Which mean you should always add some lovely lindens to the tip jar outside. The shirt is actually from LaLa FooFoo and I am wearing it with an Uncle Wiggly skirt.

Giving Thanks & Surviving Family Dinner

Today is one of America’s big holiday when we drug ourselves into comas with overdoses of tryptophan and melatonin and sheer gluttony. This ensures a good night’s sleep for the biggest shopping day of the year on Friday – and the kick off of the official Christmas shopping season, my least favorite time of year thanks to steamrolling crowds of crazed shoppers and blaring music at all the stores playing the same songs ad infinitum. But today, today is a day to be thankful that the stores are closed and we can spend some time with friends, family and good food.

While my mother was alive, we never had less than 40 people for Thanksgiving because if just my 5 siblings and their children came, we hit 40. But then, she invited every widow, widower and other solitary person and anyone else she could think of so the numbers often swelled to 70 or more.  Yay for big houses and miles of forest to play in. So, in order to survive in a fashionable sense, I followed some rules.

Foggy Bottom

I suppose since this was not shot at the State Department, Foggy Bottom is a bad name, but it’s what comes to mind. This is actually shot right behind MDR’s studio on our new sim in the Autumn section. In Autumn you can find corn and wheat fields, a wooded forest of fall color or this spooky, scary little bit of mossy, foggy bottomland which I thought a perfect setting for a dress called the Burton dress. From True La La, the Burton dress is suitably macabre for the setting.

Colder Weather

The weather is getting colder and wetter and the rainy season has set in for the winter. But that doesn’t mean doom and gloom, particularly is your wet weather gear is as bright and cheery as this Lima trench coat from Armidi. Yes, it’s last season, but who cares when it suits the weather and lightens your mood?  And talk about mood lifting, the dress underneath will increase your happiness quotient by at least 10 degrees.

Tartan

So, today I am  planning to get all sorts of inventory cleaning done – the inventory cleaning I said I would do this weekend, but….I didn’t. How does that happen that I have these lists of things to do and then the day goes by and I cannot even tell you what I did, but it wasn’t much.  Oh, well, I looked good doing not much wearing this tartan from Muism. I love that the buckles are prims you attach because it looks just so much better than being drawn on.

Hot Hair

When I saw Thalia Jie on Saturday, she was wearing the cutest hairstyle that I absolutely coveted. However, it was blonde so I didn’t just snatch it off her head and instead went to 0 Style as soon as my pixel feet could carry me. Now the style is named Prissy, but hey, designers can’t be perfect. You and I know there’s nothing the least bit prissy about the wild abandon, swing and movement in this hair. However, when someone creates hair this beuatiful, we can forgive a misleading name.
