If you didn’t play yet, Hybrid Ansar and I are expecting to deliver our RL babies with our due dates being only 1 day apart (April 27 and April 28 respectively). We’d love to see even more entrants so read below and find the links to our two separate web pages for the big SL to RL baby contest! Thanks so much to QXI Gears and Sloitkut Maynard for my little bebeh! This delivery was soooo easy – I bet the RL one will be that easy……….right? I just CLICK ACCEPT – right?

Oh No I'll Lose My Girlish Figure!

We kept it to Plurk for a few days but I think it’s time to open the rest of the flood gates for the BIGGEST CONTEST EVAH! The GUESS THE DUE DATE Contest for both Hybie and me! You see, Hybrid Ansar and I are due one day apart and as we both hit the 32 week mark this week- we decided it’d be fun to have a little contest to see who would deliver first.

How to play/THE RULES.

You should enter a guess on the web page link I give you for both Hybie and Me. The person who guesses WHICH of us has our baby first, and is closest with the date and time WITHOUT GOING OVER (just like on the PRICE IS RIGHT) will be our GRAND PRIZE WINNER and will win the LOT!

Our Web Pages are – Hybie’s Due Date Game and Gidge’s Due Date Game . So go to EACH of them and enter a guess if you like. I do advise closing one page before opening another. If you open them on top of one another – they tend to revert back to the first page you had open. It’s wonky.

So you’d like to apply some folklore, family beliefs or personal experience to your guess? Here is what I can tell you so far about us and our babies:

HYBIE:

  • Due April 28 2010
  • Expecting – a baby boy
  • First Child
  • Had her 32 week check up today – so we can update any baby stats later today!

GIDGE:

  • Due – April 27,2010
  • Expecting – a baby girl
  • This is my 4th Child
  • First Child delivered at 36 weeks 3 days, at 9 pounds 1 oz
  • Twins Delivered at 38 weeks and one was over 7 pounds and one was just under
  • At my 32 week check up, the baby is 4.5 pounds and her head is 10cm long 7 cm wide – 33cm circumference.
  • My doctor has no plans to induce me
  • I have never had a c-section

NOW! Apply all those old wives tales and go play!

I love that our SL and our RL can celebrate such a happy and wonderful time together! The more the merrier – anyone is eligible to win but the name who wins gets the entire cache. Cajsa Lilliehook will serve as our neutral 3rd party and will hold the cache and pass it to the winner!!!

If anyone wants to donate to the cache of prizes, just drop it on me, Hybie or Cajsa with a notecard! 🙂

Oh There Goes Gravity,Oh There Goes Gravity

Meandering through the clothing fair has been a treat this week.  For instance, having wandered into KWZ on the TOKYO sim I feel in love with this outfit that falls under the category of DO NOT NEED/MUST HAVE. So I had to have it. Continue reading

Momma Was An Opium Smoker

Not really! That’s just the name of this lovely rose quartz and gold jewelry set from Ticky Tacky made for the Accessory Fair. With a name like that I knew I had to show it off – especially since it it really cute. How lucky, then, that it is such a great match with the Adam N Eve dress for the RFL Clothing Fair. Saint Patricks Day Does NOT Have To Be Tacky

posted by Gidge Uriza

Ziezo, the elegant ballgown recently released by Sascha’s Designs is a beautiful example of the basic truth that the wearing o’ the green can be elegant.  I enjoy a fun tacky party as much as the next girl, but if you events calendar features more dressy soirees – there is hope!

This gown is available in a rainbow of deep hued jewel tones but the green is super elegant and totally holiday appropriate.

I’m ready. Who has my green beer? (I didn’t say to dismiss EVERYTHING that was tacky)

Style Notes:

***Bold R Indicates a Review Item***

  • Shape – Gidge Custom Shape
  • Hair – Barber Yumyum
  • Skin – Belleza Alyson Sunkissed R
  • Dress – Sascha’s Designs – Ziezo in Green
  • Necklace – Degroot

GoldBlooded

I adore the name of the bracelets and earrings I am wearing today. They are by Ganked for the Accessory Fair and are called Goldblooded – and with that blood orange color, they seriously could not have a more clever name if a panel of naming experts had been convened. I am wearing them with a dress from Sysy Chapman that I picked up at her RFL Clothing Fair booth that really shows off the jewelry. The necklace from the set was not such a good fit with this bodice, so I opted for one from Couture Tres Chapeau that almost becomes an extension of the dress.

This Night of a Thousand Stars

This fantastical dress from Clio Pret a Porter  makes me think of a beautiful tango from the musical Evita. It’s called On This Night of a Thousand Stars. You see I am wearing This Dress of a Thousand Stars that could take you to heaven’s door.

On this night of a thousand stars
Let me take you to heaven’s door
Where the music of love’s guitars
Plays for evermore!
In the glow of those twinkling lights
We shall love through eternity
On this night in a million nights
Fly away with me!

I Kept Trubble, I Knew I'd Need It

posted by Gidge Uriza

I knew when I saw the Erin dress from Trubble that I was going to need it. I didn’t know what FOR, but I knew I would indeed want it for something. So I threw it out on my bedroom floor by the window. WEEKS ago. I’ve been staring at it so long, it was in danger of becoming artwork. Continue reading

Does the Fashion World Ever Stop for Breath?

This outfit combines elements from three events that are going on right now, the Accessory Fair, the Clothing Fair and Melt, an Installation on Thin Ice…and there’s a Pose Fair on the way. As the title asks, does the Fashion World ever stop for breath? I don’t think so.  Anyway, let’s start with the glorious Accessory Fair jewelry from SPICA. I have a long love for SPICA’s jewelry and was so happy to see the store included in the Accessory Fair because that would mean something NEW! and there sure are some lovely new items including pearl necklaces, bracelets and earrings in black and white.   The white pearl jewelry was the ideal complement to the dress, it’s pearls small and delicate enough to work well with the froth of net and crystals on the bodice.

A Trip Around the World

Can I just say I love, love, love the themes of this year’s Relay for Life Clothing Fair? It was wonderful to travel round the world from New Delhi (shown here) to Paris to London and Tokyo and on to 8 of the world’s great cities. I also liked that the fashions more or less suited the locations. Lots of punk fashions in London, silks and saris in New Delhi, swimwear in Rio and so on. OF course, not all the clothes are location-specific – people often design a wide array within one clothing line. Nonetheless, the subtle changing fashions from sim to sim were wonderful to see.

My outfit came from different stores on different sims, but I thought New Delhi was the perfect place to wear it. It’s a mix of Indyra Originals and INDI Designs and in the folder of items I purchased at the Clothing Fair happened to sit next to each other alphabetically. How fated is that?
