Whilst wandering around some of the new shopping sims I found BeetleBones – a fun little clothing store where I picked up this love dark blue leopard print dress with the best name ever for a leopard print anything. It’s called “I Ate Tarzan!” How perfect is that. Such wit and humor must be rewarded so I picked up the adorable little dress – a strapless shirtwaist that I paired with another of those lovely shrugs from BOOM – the Wrong Size Cardigan.

Casually Chic
Sometimes it’s fun to put an outfit together exactly backwards which is what I did with this one. I started from the outside with the Haute Style Co. jacket – part of the Paulie Dos outfit. I bought the outfit to get this jacket which is just a luscious brown with blue print. The skirt was next from Hal*Hina – the blue bolero outfit. The top is from Kookie and has made a few appearances before in other colors.
That must have been some battle
I won this dress! And after Iota told me about the inspiration for the dress – The Battle of Rajasthan – I think it’s so appropriate that I won it. To be completely honest, I don’t see a battle going on in the dress – unless it’s a battle between pink and green. If so, well the wearer is the victor. Iota made this dress in several shades and it took me almost two weeks to pick the one I wanted. There’s a gorgeous blue and yellow that had my name on it, too. However, since retiring from photography, I have to watch my lindens more closely and happily winning 2nd in one of her photo contests, I was able to get one. I love pink and green together – just about more than anything…so this is it. The dress is called Junko – after one of Iota’s friends, but no matter the name, or the inspiration, the fabric is just amazingly detailed and beautiful.
Are the stars out tonight?
Are the stars out tonight?
I dont know if its cloudy or bright
cause I only have eyes for you, dear
The moon may be high
But I cant see a thing in the sky
cause I only have eyes for you.
Big Bad Blogger Challenge #3
Alice Chenaux now asks us: You’ve been given a sim of your very own to use for free for one year. However, there are 3 rules. It cannot be residential, it cannot be commercial, and it has to be open to the public. What do you do with it?
Well, that’s easy. I would make a photo park like what most of the MDR sim was except for the part that was the studio. There were sections with foliage and weather for each part of the year, an underwater sunken ship and underwater volcano, there was a beach, a corn field, three different waterfalls and all sort of box sets up in the sky. It was a photographer’s dream. A dream that poofed. Luckily there are still wonderful places to shoot all about the grid including Ode where the photo above was taken.
Dressing2Shop
I think when you’re shopping you should dress well enough that you don’t feel all pathetic and underdressed and end up buying out the store. However, I do think shopping in a ball gown is lagtastic. I like to dress the way I would in RL, comfortably in chic casual clothing with some layering in case the air condition is on. This little mashup of items form Anuenue, Kookie and Canimal is just right. The shoes, by the way, are from Kalnins and it’s worth it to make a size 11 foot copy of your shape and toss in the folder with the shoes for easy dressing.
A-Bomb's Miss Kiss Rocks It!
Plurk should definitely be on the tactics list for anyone planning to conquer the world. It is an idea to action place like no other. For example, the recent Blogger Appreciation Week mushroomed into such an extravaganza in part because plurk is so good an spreading ideas and information into ever-expanding circles and networks. It also can be the catalyst for amazing spurts of creativity and then fun things like this fabulous dress can happen. You see, yesterday I expressed an inappropriate level of lust for a dress worn by Dita van Teese at DSquared. Plurkista Lavea Alter of A-Bomb ventured a stab at translating it into the virtual world and you see the result above. She even volunteered to pose for this shoot and that is her rocking the Dita look on the right.
Dante
Sometimes the names of outfits confuse me and I try to figure out why they are named what they are. For example, this jacket is named Dante. Well, it is hellfire red, I guess, but other than that, there is nothing hellish about it. In fact, I think it is divine. Hmmm, maybe that’s the reference, though it’s not comedic. Color me confused, but enthralled with this lovely rich and oh-so-luscious jacket. You can find it at the new-to-me Paper Street Soap Company, a store I stumbled on while looking for another. Those are always the best kind, aren’t they?
While I have your attention, let me also add that Gidge is out of surgery, in recovery and while not ready to dance the cha-cha, the surgery has gone well.
O Admiral, My Admiral
My apologies to Walt Whitman.
Last Saturday, I saw Uma’s marvelous post with the My Admiral Jacket from Milk Motion. She is one of my favorite bloggers and someone whose originality and fashion wit brings real joy and elan to the feed. I have never met her, but certainly get the impression that she is what we call “nice people” in my neck of woods as her blog is always positive and a delight. When I saw that jacket I knew I had to have it and seriously, it was a struggle to take it off. In fact, I wore it in two outfits back to back.
Butterflies Hanging Fire
Sometimes I shoot a great outfit or dress and then don’t post it right away, letting it get bumped by something more topical or timely. I try to shoot a few outfits at once and stock up a bit in case I can’t get anything done some nights. This is one that’s been hanging fire for more than 10 days and really it deserves better than that. It’s the butterfly gown from Moxie Polano. I picked it up at Relay For Life, but didn’t shoot it right away, so it’s been waiting its turn very patiently. Looking at the excellent cutwork and battenburg lace on the bodice as well as the button gloves, I really should not have let it wait. It’s just so lovely.
